Jackson 8th beat Gallia 8th 33-30 in a very well played game.

For those nostalgic folks out there
The "old school" Seoal Schools have some nice teams coming up. On any given night those schools could beat each other and I haven't even seen Warren play but rumor is they're good too.

Jackson
Logan
Athens
Warren
Gallia

Warren Blue 7th and 8th played Waterford last night. 7th was up 21-0 at end of first. Subs played a lot last night, won 49 to 26. The 8th won 73 to 35 I think.

Play Marietta on Sat - Go Blue!

Tuesday night:

Athens 7th and 8th grade teams both finish regular season at 14-2. With a tournament left to play, Athens 8th grade the last two years is a combined 32-3.

I haven't seen Warren play these last two years, but I know that Athens, Logan, and Jackson 8th grade teams have played some very good ballgames as 7th and 8th graders. Hopefully all the kids stay with it, could be some entertaining basketball at the JV and Varsity levels!

As for tonight in tournament play:

Athens 8th 44
Logan 8th 26

Weird playing a double elimination tournament with just 3 teams, but I fully expect it to be Athens/Logan to meet up again in the final. Hoping the two boys that went out for Logan in the 2nd half are okay.

I'm pretty Sure OHSAA regulations don't allow double elimination tournaments for Jr. High But I could be wrong.
Not sure what the penalty would be.

Also, can only play in one tournament for the basketball season.

Can anybody tell me if Athens, Logan, or Jackson have one or two 7th or 8th grade teams? Warren went from three Jr. high teams ( 7th & 8th) to two each after going to a middle school this year. 8th grade had about 23 kids go out for basketball and they split them up into two teams. Warren has some nice players coming up but it's hard to tell how good they might be because they've never had much of a chance to play together on one team. One of their kids didn't even play this year choosing instead to play only AAU ball. Next year they might have one to three kids play up and there will probably be ten kids on the freshman team so close to half the kids playing this year won't be playing next year. It's going to be interesting to see what they can do when they get in high school.
