Just two on the 7th grade team. Actually they are brothers that used to attend Burg then had to move away because their father’s work transferred him. He was promoted and able to transfer back here.
Burg had pretty even scoring, I don't recall at the moment anyone having more then 12 points. I'm going to assume Clark is either #12 or #4. #4 didn't score too much maybe 6-8 but I do believe #12 was their leading scorer as he hit like 4 3's. I'll have the book again tomorrow and I'll check if you guys want me to, but what I just listed was off the top of my head.Proud_Pirate63 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2017 3:34 pm Dang auto correct. As far as the 7th grade team #23 and #40 (sorry don't remember names) hit some big shots and both played very well. Waverly had the lead the whole game as Burg kept it close and late into the 4th quarter tied it on a huge 3 by #40 as our help D isn't the greatest.
The rematch will be just as good for both grades.
Waverly plays at Minford Thursday 12/14/17 then Southeastern Saturday 12/16/17 @ SE @ noon tipoff for the 7th grade in the Auxiliary gym and the 8th grade in the Main gym at 1:30
#4 Clark was pretty fast and really hung with Trey fairly well. Lot of reach around which could have been called fouls by some officials.Proud_Pirate63 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2017 12:00 pmClark was #4 and Masters #12TIGER#27 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2017 8:03 amBurg had pretty even scoring, I don't recall at the moment anyone having more then 12 points. Burg 21
West 39
Game was never really even that close. West’s 7th grade starters are talented especially #23 and #33.
West seems to be improving. They play excellent man to man as a team and help, which is something you don't see alot of. I think the score was 30 to 4 in the 3rd quarter when he pulled the starters.Proud_Pirate63 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2017 6:39 pm Final 7th grade

I believe that was the final score. Excellent game. Waverly went down by 11 or 12 in the third quarter and made a valiant run in the fourth to cut the lead to one. I think we had a shot to take the lead. Credit goes to Minford they played a nice game. That is one big 8th grade team! Waverly's big man went to down with a sprained ankle at the beginning of the third quarter. Hopefully he makes a full recovery and can return soon.
The game was tied 20-20 at half even with the refs making absolutely terrible calls on waverly and Will Futhey got hurt I believe on his ankle at the beginning of the second half ( I heard his ankle was as swollen and as big as a baseball). When Will was out Waverly could simply not rebound because there was nobody that could rebound over minford’s bigs. When Will is in he brings a dominant force in the post, he plays great defense, and is probably the best rebounder at this level that I’ve seen. If Will would have played the whole game I believe Waverly would’ve won 15+.Ironman92 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2017 9:51 pmHope Futhey gets back soon and healthytoast wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2017 9:36 pm 8th Grade

They have a very good team and program. We haven’t faced them since 5th grade at Gallipolis tournament in the championship game.Tri-StateYouthSports wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2017 10:52 am 8th grade
