I think it would too. It would need to be near highway 52. If I had money for a franchise, I would open one.

The original Columbia Steak House was in Lexington, KY and I think is still in business. Go there on a Saturday night and you would see farmers in their bibs and high society in their evening clothes. Elbow to elbow. Food was worth the wait, as you had to at times, to get a table.

The Ashland store was close but not quite up to the one in Lex. I used to eat at the one in Lex in the '60s and '70s & '80s when I went there for trainging and it never changed over those years. The salad plate would fill you before you even got your steak.

Chimney Corner used to be good in Ashland also. As was the Outpost. And never forget the Bluegrass.

In the '60s, the bowling alley in Ashland had the best Chef Salad in town, and they made their own Thousand Island dressing that was out of this world.

Is that one hamburger stand joint that was located off Park Avenue where it meets 52 and 93 still there? I liked their hamburgers.

Kehoe's?? But wasn't it something else before that?

Kehoe's doesn't sound right. It may have changed to Kehoe's later, but that name doesn't sound right.

The "Hamburger Stand Joint" was originally called Rudmann's Dairy Bar. Frank Rudmann owned it and the small convenience store accross the street where the chiropractor office stands. Back in those days they weren't called convenience stores. They were just stores where you purchased milk and bread and candy.

I read on another thread this morning where you graduated in 1986, if that is true you must have been born around 1968 and since the Outpost was the hottest spot in Kentucky back in the late 50s and early 60s means that you were just a "Gleam" in your daddy's eyes...... :) :)

do I know who you are, no but I have a real good idea since you live in the trailer park and I have a lot of freinds who live in the park who do know you......and they tell me you are a pretty nice young lady......

I don't just live in The Trailer Park. I am The Queen of the Trailer Park, that is, until The Educator comes back to reclaim her title.

It is sweet of them to say I am a pretty nice person.

I miss the Shake Shoppe, and Sadlers Restaurant in Jackson, Ohio.
I loved going to the Shake Shoppe when we went to Jackson, because
they had great footers and fries. Their hot dog sauce was awesome!
I also miss going to GC Murphy and Buckeye Mart to shop too.
Those were the good ole days!! :)

I have never been to the one in Lexington, but the one Ashland had the best Porterhouses I have ever had. How do I get to the one in Lexington Im going to be down the way this weekend and may try it.

OZ, if you are drinking what I am thinking you are drinking tonight, you will be slicing like the little eaglet for several hours tonight. Can you say projectile? And when you see the Mountain Dew, you are READY for the Dr. And after no food for a couple of days, you will be hungry enough to go through their line twice.

http://tinyurl.com/dgbjrx

There are three of them now. I think the one on Limestone is the oldest and original. I don't guarantee anything as it has been at least late '70s or early '80s since I been there.

I always got the fillet steak (mignon) as no where else did I ever see one as large. A elongated plate (not saucer) of fries and the salad was on the same size plate. Think of a small dinner plate oval shaped.

But as I said, it has been years and YMMV.

Dang - you all are making me hungry - I could go for some Burger Chef topped off with playing some Pac Man in their game room. Then maybe some Anderson's pizza and a snow-cone from James'. Mmmmmmm.......

How about Stone's Bar and Grill? Or the Oasis? I remember eating at those places with my dad when I was little.
