Free Flight for Veterans to Washington, D.C.

Post by BubbleGumTiger »

Local vets have the chance to take advantage of an opportunity to travel to the nation's capital free of charge.

"Honor Flight", a non-profit organization with the mission of transporting veterans to the nation's capital to see memorials that were built in their honor, has chartered a 149 passenger flight to leave Tri-State Airport on Satuday, May 11.

First priority will be given to World War II veterans followed by Korean and Vietnam veterans.

For more information call 740-451-0615 or visit www.honorflight.org.

been there several times so I think I will give my seat to someone who has not had the opportunity to visit our nation's Capital.

The Ironton Amvets are planning to bring the mobile Vietnam Wall to Ironton in August during Rally on the River.......

I think honor flights are awesome!!
A lot of WWII vets aren't able to make it on their own and this gives them a chance to see there monument.

Just a 20 year vet? C'mon sarge! You are modest at best! Less than 1% of the population serves and even a far less number obtains the bragging rights of a 20 yr man! The Vietnam era was the toughest time to serve in modern times, due to the unpopularity of the war! Much respect for you guys! ;-) Belly up and listen to the stories as they take on a life of their own!
