I think it’s time Ash got a corporate sponsor for all the threads that get locked by his admins....

When a thread needs locked down...SEOPS Locks it down with - Loctite!!

Looks like there's some competition for the sponsor

We don't like locking threads but we also don't like getting emails from angry coaches or parents.

Do you suspect Fb, and instagram, and twitter, and snapchat, and venmo, and youtube , also get emails from angry coaches and parents or is SEOPS unique in this burden? Do you suspect that perhaps it's time to update the default excuse per 2019 etc etc?

Or

Lol... have ya been around social media any in oh, say the last decade or so? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

So we are suppose to believe that the discussion on this forum are so egregious, and relevant, and vivid, that amongst all of the platforms that exist, THIS type of pressure and push back is actually occuring from, "angry parents and coaches?"

Lol.

I think you are out of touch, and so is your excuse.

Matter fact, I would go as far as to suggest it occurs most regularly when one certain fan base is taking a few lumps in the comments. The air lock sure doesn't occur for other fan bases quite as consistently. It's almost seems as if a few admins have a bias of some sort. Not to imply any of that is actually the case, however the optics presently appear to suggest it is not unreasonable to suggest it.

This particular fanbase on numerous occasions are permitted to speculate and perpetuate without evidentiary basis regarding a programs recruiting/non recruiting, and nothing is ever air locked,.and yet, if the seemingly overly protected fan base is the subject of discussions regarding potential past transgressions, objections rain in from on high to SHUT DOWN THIS CONVERSATION. Censor it!!! Make these thoughts vanish so we can pretend the conversation and questions therein do not exist!!

And why does this fan base scream for discussions to be censored and stifled?

One reason.

They just don't like it.

They are too busy projecting an image. Can't remove that filter.

Call it down the middle and stop using bs excuses to conceal bias.

And if grown adults in southern ohio communities are actually emailing discussion threads complaining because they are offended - πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ then those folks should really turn off the Andy Griffith reruns and get out more.

LMAO!! SHEEEESH. πŸ˜³πŸ˜‚

I apologize, but that entire premise being used in the current social media landscape and the current prep sports landscape is absurd AT BEST!

Absurd. Petty. Superficial. Weak.

13 yr olds get the cover of SI now. They are debated and scrutinized DAILY before they ever lace up a collegiate cleet or sneaker. And SEOPS threads are just over the line exploitative in its critical analysis and opinion? Are you sure that is the hill this thing is dying on?

What if we pretended it was 2019 for a little bit? Lol

Sorry man. We let a lot go but we have always tried to be respectful to parents and coaches.

It would be fitting to have to Lock the thread about β€œThread Lock”

I agree but the ironton fans do seem to be getting better since they have had a little more success this year

Open enrollment, recruiting, social media critique, etc, its all part of the modern landscape w prep athletics.

To anyone complaining I would say this.

Instead of trying to shelter your young person from reality ( critical analysis, criticism, etc) teach them that it is a reality and how to manage that reality. Build go getters.

No matter if it’s cheating refs, recruiting, losing, kids moving I have never seen the point in complaining??

Why complain about complaining? Bashing kids should be off limits. If a coach gets his undies stuck up his crack because of this site he should grow a set!

The difference is angry parents and coaches don't normally live down the street from Mark Zuckerberg or Sundar Pichai. Also most of these mods probably have a day job working the people being on blast and it's probably not worth the headache for them.

Another difference is that on most other sites such as Facebook people are identified by their name and are not anonymous.

People do tend to run their mouth a little more hiding behind a user name

Talking sports on FB/IG is terrible. Awful. You cannot have an intelligent discussion about sports on FB. The worst. Twitter...a bit better.

Way more info for what thousands of people want in these parts.

Key problem is that way more read than post. Yeah, it’s nearly 2020 and an age where about anything goes in sports....but this site has been very consistent. That stuff doesn’t have a huge place here. Yeah, maybe Matt should catch up....but also maybe several should go by the β€œWhen in Rome....”

this the reason this site down to a hand full of people posting, from what used to be overloaded to where the site would crash, no one can handle disagreement
