CoVid-19...How are you, family, area doing?

Post by OHHS old timer »

Folks:

I want all of you to know that I have been praying for everyone up there. Also praying for those on the front line of this pandemic (remember-pandemic only describes how widespread it is...not how lethal it is).

After some thought, I decided to start this thread. The only thing....please do not get too political.

Another thing, if you post numbers of infected or whatever....state your source. Example: from Johns Hopkins Hosp....the number of cases worldwide have just surpassed 400,000 as of this PM.

As the Brits said during the early days of WWII....
Stay calm and carry on."

It is certainly a stressful time. Lots to worry about and not a lot we can do about it. Stay home and stay safe folks.

Thought I'd take a look at numbers here in NW Fla..

Escambia Co. (Pensacola)

10 total cases...0 deaths...7 men/ 3 women

Santa Rosa Co. (Navarre??)

4 cases...all men...1 death (sorry for saying 2 earlier)

Okaloosa Co. (Ft. Walton Bch)

14 cases...4 men/ 10 women....0 deaths

Bay Co. (Panama City/PC Bch)

1 case....male

This is from Fla Dept. Of Health website and is updated daily around noon EST.

The one in my county is not a Fl resident and is travel related. Of the numbers above...15 are travel related...22 non-travel related...6 are unknown at this time.

If I looked correctly...47 of 67 counties have reported at least 1 case.

This is just me talking....

Am I worried about this coronavirus? No...I am concerned. Hand wash x 12 per day. Mask when I am out...no. Do I disinfect things?? Yep..about the same as before.

I will not let this consume me. Hell, if you listen to the media (generally speaking) enough...you might think you have it.

I put my trust in the common sense that God gave to me and what I have learned over the years from my parents and others.

And that's the bottom line for me.

Things okay here. Heard we have one in Hocking County, but the persons info isn't the best. But then they might be right for once. Don't really know right off how long the results take.

What are the average age of these people that have died in Ohio?

Watching game shows and catching up on Netflix

It’s not been that bad really. Just following the rules and finding ways to enjoy myself

I’ll say it’s been interesting that’s for sure. I’ve been deemed an essential employee by my employer (Shawnee State) so I am continuing to work. As a custodian it’s quite scary. Cleaning up after people, not sure who has what. Campus is pretty much empty, most buildings closed, they have put us into teams and changed my work schedule. I myself am not worried about if I catch it, I am however worried about my infant daughter who doesn’t have much of an immune system, as well as my mom, who’s older and not in fantastic health. I’ve of course been taking proper precautions, but I’ve done that since I’ve had the job, don’t know who has what, who’s butts been on what toilet seat and so on. Going to the stores have been ummm a challenge. We haven’t went to panic buy, but we have went because I have an infant daughter who needs things. It was hard to find both diapers and wipes, formula as well. Then when we talk about the scarce supply of toilet paper and food that the stores here had or should I say didn’t have is mind blowing. So yeah it’s been an interesting time for me, wondering what’s next.
