The Tecumseh outdoor drama was written by Allen Eckert, who is a highly regarded historian, who has written "The Frontiersman" and "The dark and bloody river: The life of Tecumseh".

Both are great books, The Frontiersman is wonderful if you like 1750-1820 frontiersman/pioneer/indian history. It is fascinating since it deals many with the southern Ohio and Northern Ky areas, many of the historical sites are still there today. The key characters in the book are Simon Kenton, Daniel Boone, Tecumseh and Blue Jacket (originally a white settler as a child) who are also the key characters in the outdoor drama.

If you havent read it, you can pick up a copy in the gift shop before or after you watch the outdoor drama.

I have seen this and feel that it is definitley worth watching. Pretty good depiction of history. I suggest this to anyone in the area for a great family event.

I saw it last night and it was well done as usual. (It was my third time as I saw it in the 70's and 80's but missed the 90's.) I thought the crowd was a little small but it was threatening rain all day.

Someone said that they are thinking of discontinuing it due to lack of support. Has anyone else heard that?

This show is one of my favorite things to do in all of Ohio, not just the southern part of the state. I do not, however, regard Eckert as a great historian. A great author, definitely. But his assertion that Blue Jacket was a white man is met with skepticism by most historians that I respect. Also, this year's show was a little too dramatic and over-acted(if that is a word) compared to the dozen or so times I have seen it in the past.
