A Los Angeles court told Britney Spears two weeks ago that she is now forbidden to drive a car with her children inside. The ruling came after TMZ posted a video of Spears running a red light and apparently sending a test message while her children slept in their carseats. A court-appointed monitor who had been assigned to keep tabs on Spears was seen bending over in the front seat trying to hide from the camera.

Paul McCartney is secretly dating actress Rosanna Arquette,said the London News of the World. The couple was photographed hugging and kissing goodbye on two back-to-back dates in London last week. "Paul looked very flirty," a witness told the newspaper. "The sparks were there for everyone to see." The romatic walks came shortly after McCartney was linked to American businesswoman Nancy Shevell, who spent the week at home recovering fron an illness.

The 1969 song "Sweet Caroline" was inspired by a young Caroline Kennedy, singer Neil Diamond revealed last week. Diamond, 66, performed his first and biggest hit at Kennedy's 50th birthday party, telling her he wrote it when he was a young, unknown songwriter and saw a magazine photo of President Kennedy's daughter dressed in riding gear, standing next to her pony. "It was such an innocent, wonderful picture," Diamond said. He wasn't sure how she'd react to the revelation. " I thought she might be embarrassed, but she seems to be struck by it and really, really happy."

Four years after a tiger mauled Las Vegas star Roy Horn during a show, Siegfried & Roy may be returning to the stage, the performers told Las Vegas Review-Journal last week. Horn, 63, has been keeping a strenuous rehabilitation regimen, and freguently visits his menagerie of animals, including Montecore, the white tiger that attacked him. Horn would not reveal details of his future performing plans. " A good magician never lets the cat out of the bag," he said.

Last week The London News of the World published X-rated photos of Heather Mills that the estranged wife of Paul McCartney had insisted didn't exist. Last year, Mills said she had only done some "glamour modeling" during the 1980s, but the newly revealed magizine photos show her naked and posing in a pornographic way. A quote accompanying the pictures says, "I'm gonna Drive you crazy with my body."

Jessica Alba is pregnant, a spokeman for the 26-year-old actress confirmed last week. The father is her 28-year-old boyfriend, Cash Warren, who was an assistant to the director of a film Alba worked on three years ago. "Jessica and Cash are expecting a baby in late spring,early summer," said the spokesman.

The Associated Press has prewritten Britney Spears' obituary, said Usmagazine. News outlets often prepare obituaries in advance, but usually only if a celebrity is ill or aged. "Of course,we would never wish any type of misfortune on anybody," said AP entertainment editor Jesse Washington, "but if something were to happen, we would have to be prepared."

Singer Amy Winehouse checked into rehab two weeks ago after a 20- minute video surfaced showing her apparently smoking crack and snorting cocaine and Ecstasy. "Amy decided to enter the facility today after talks with her record label, management, family, and doctors," said her record company in a statement. Winehouse had already taken what she called a "detox trip" to the Caribbean shortly before the video was filmed.

The Spice Girls dropped four countries from their word tour last week after experiencing disappointing turnouts at some shows. The group, which reunited in December, will not be playing Australia, China, South Africa, or Argentina. "Sadly, the tour needs to come to an end by the end of February due to family and personal commitments," said the singers in a statement.

People magazine has struck a deal to pay Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony $6 million for the first photographs of their twins, said MSNBC. The magizine paid Christina Aguilera $2 million for last week's cover photo of the singer with her newborn.

Jane Fonda apologized last week for using the C-word on live TV, but said that complaints were "pretty silly." During an interview with Today's Meredith Vieira about her appearance in The V- Monolgues, the 70-year-old actress said she was initially reluctant to take the part. 'I live in Georgia. I was asked to do a monologue called C-,' and I said, 'I don't think so. I've got enough problems." After NBC asked her to issue an apology, Fonda said, "I didn't mean to offend anybody. What's the big deal?"

Boris Becker has taken up professional poker. "I have already been playing intensively since last year," said Becker, 40, who won Wimbledon three times before retiring in 1999. He recently signed a sponsorship contract with an internet poker company and hopes to play at the premier European poker competition in Monte Carlo next month.

Heath Ledger wrote his will before his relationship with Michelle Williams and the birth of their daughter, Matlida, and left all his assets to his parents and siblings, said the New York Daily News. Ledger's father,though, said they will share his fortune with his granddaughter. "Matilda is our absolute priority and Michelle is an intergral part of our family," said Ledger's father. "They will be taken care of and that's how Heath would want it to be.

The Chinese government said it would impose new restrictions on foreign performers after the singer BJORK chanted "Tibet! Tibit!" after singing a song called "Declare Independence" at a Chinese concert. The political statement "not only broke Chinese laws and regulations and hurt the feeling of Chinese people but also went against the professional code of an artist,' said China's Ministry of Culture.

UCLA Medical Center will fire 13 employees and suspend six for looking at Britney Spears' confidential medical records, the hospital said last week. It is a violation of federal law for unauthorized personel to look at patient records, and the Department of Public Health has opened an investigation. UCLA human-resources Jeri Simpson said most celebrities who arrive at the hospital do not attract attension. "I don't know what it is about this particular person," she said.

The actress, who was convicted of stealing clothes from Saks Fifth Avenue in 2002, was stopped by a security guard after setting off an alarm. "We took the unpaid items back, and she left the store," an employee told the tabloid.
