I have noticed that not many kids are joining the band anymore, is it because of all the time they spend practicing and getting ready for compititions.

I don't know if anyone has heard, but there was a certain judge at a few competitions that talked about the band before they performed. This wouldn't have been such a big deal if they did not miss state finals by 1 point on three different occasions. Did anyone else see them and think they deserved to qualify?

The Marching Senators sounded strong during their performance at the Scioto County Fair last night. Numbers look to be in the 50's for playing members and looked like 8 or so flag corp. This years competition program features songs from the "cirque du soleil"... I hope I spelled that right, lol

West went to the competition at Dawson-Bryant this past Saturday and placed 8th out of 8, yet they barely missed qualifying for state finals. They came two points away in two different categories (points system, not rating system). Not everyday you see a band place last and almost qualify!

I heard some problems with having to share a field (football and band). Who takes priority?

I'm sure though the band can work around anyone's schedule. BTW, Congrats PW on qualifying this year. That's great.

West qualified in their home competition two weeks ago. It was also their first of the year.
