11:30 a.m. UPDATE: Dr. John Temponeras resigns from SOMC following raid on doctors' offices and pharmacy

11:30 a.m. UPDATE: County Health Commissioner Aaron Adams has confirmed that Dr. John Temponeras has resigned from Southern Ohio Medical Center amid the fallout from today's actions by the DEA, FBI and other law enforcement agencies.

10:53 a.m. update: Law enforcement officials have confirmed that the Drug Enforcement Agency has suspended the medical licenses of four area doctors (Dr. Margy Temponeras of Wheelersburg among them) and the license of a Portsmouth pharmacist.

Earlier coverage:

TUESDAY 10 a.m.: Several law enforcement agencies are conducting raids on four doctors' offices and a pharmacy in Scioto County. The Scioto County Sheriff's Office, FBI, Ohio Attorney General's office and other agencies have raided the Wheelersburg office of Dr. Margy Temponeras and the Portsmouth offices of her father, Dr. John Temponeras, and the offices of Dr. Fantozzi and Dr. Doss in Portsmouth. The pharmacy is located at Gay and Fourth streets in Portsmouth. It is unclear yet what actions the agencies have taken against the doctors.

why don't they spend less money on busting people so much and spend more on rehab programs to help people with these kinds of addictions. YUK YUK YUK!!!

To much money involved for rehab to work. It is about the money, not the addiction. You can not clean them all up, there will always be people to sell to.

Bust them all!!!!
