Was meant to be "Portsmouth will be DOMINATE " after we are 100% we will give ptown all they want. If you keep reading my message I would think u could fig it out. Just in case u couldn't. I spelled it out correctly with my next post. Couldve dbl checked spelling and maybe a period or a comma would've helped. Someone thinkn ptown will b dominated by anyone around here would be as dumb not being able to the entire message and not fig out what was being said. Why would u say ptown b dominated by ironton then n the same sentence say they will give them all they want after they r 100%. Giving them all they want aka close game if ironton loses ptown will have to earn it. Or maybe we can pull off a victory if we can play well vs their pressure.

I will make sure I proof read from now on . I'm on way back from Columbus and wanted to make sure I cleared up to make sure u didn't think I thjnk we would dominate anyone. But I do think we will go 15-7 or 17-5. And will be strong come tourny time

I said I think Portsmouth will dominate the league. After Ironton is full strength they will give them (ptown) all they want. Everyone else is playing for 3rd. So yes Portsmouth will kill everyone with their pressure and ability to score. Ironton will be the only team that can handle them and we will have trouble first time around.
Maybe I read that wrong? I read "Portsmouth will be dominated".

Dominated? really? Is Portsmouth not as good as advertised?
Here is what I retyped I meant they (ptown)would dominate, ironton once full strength will give them all they want. My original message did read wrong.

This is my prediction after watching previews.
1. Portsmouth
2. Fairland
3.Chesapeake
4.Ironton
5.CG
6.SP
7.RH

In my opinion 2-7 will be close...

The first month of the season is in the books, and we have had just a few conference games. The next two weeks will provide every OVC team the opportunity to prove their metal on the floor, as the conference schedule gets in full swing.

Will there be a dominant team rise to the top?
Will home court advantage make a difference?
Or will no one rise to the top till February?

Should be fun to watch!

… I will get to see both Fairland and Chesapeake at the Beasts of the Southeast … I have seen Portsmouth … looking forward to being able to compare the top 3 "players" in the OVC after the first full week of January …

Anyone care to revise and extend their "predictions" from earlier posts on this thread?

Chesapeake 68
Portsmouth 53
Final 1/6/15

I'm pretty sure that they have a Basketball team in Chesapeake. Great win for the Panthers!

Typical banter from the Itown Pmouth people.
I barely watch any basketball and can easily say any of the four good teams in the ovc could take each other on a good night. It's highschool basketball. Any freshman could walk out and randomly go 8-8 for 3s and its game over. Learn to enjoy the crazy randomness and coaching strategies.
That's high school basketball

Congratulations to the Panthers and Coach Davis for their win over my Trojans........they outplayed PHS from start to finish, and Chesapeake's inside game was too much for Portsmouth to handle. I still have faith that Coach Collins and the Trojans will get things in order and will definitely be in the race for the OVC championship.

Congratulations Panthers!!

This Fighting Tiger fan hasn't forgot about Chesapeake, they are a Basketball school and have had tremendous success. Looks like another great season in the making for the Panthers.

I agree with Portsmouth being the best in the region. BUT, they Can be beaten and will be tested in the OVC and can lose to at least 3-4 of the other teams if they don't bring their A game.

Awesome Win last night Panthers!

Maybe I missed it but I looked at every single post on here and not ONE of them was a Portsmouth fan talking or bantering about winning the OVC ? Peake is a very good team and those of us that was at the game have said so, any team that plays them will find out just how good they are

Kinda exactly what I read.
And by banter I just mean "typical pre-thought superiority" when the season has barely begun.
I bet Peake still drops 2 in conference play.

Very good league. If CG and Ironton are teams hovering in the middle of the pack, you know it's going to be a good year for the league overall.

Very good win by the Trojans last night at Fairland 68-60. Kyre Allison scored 32 points, to go with 33 vs. Chesapeake on Tuesday. Fairland is a very good basketball team, having seen them at the Ironton Classic and giving Africentric all they could handle. The Dragons also beat Cleveland John Hay, a team Portsmouth lost to last year.

The OVC is a strong basketball conference, and it looks like perhaps as many as 3-4 teams could be playing in the district tournament come March.
