Re: Whos Your High Schhol. DREAM Team
Portsmouth Trojans, from 1951 to present:
Larry Hisle (1965)........first team All-American
Mike Haley (1961)........starting center on 1961 state champions
Jeff Lisath (1978)........all time leading state tournament scorer for PHS
Craig Tubbs (1979).......2nd leading all time state tournament scorer for PHS
Patrick Tubbs (1988).....starting PG on 1988 state champions
Off the bench:
Damond Mannon (1992).......played for Baylor
Mike Lovenguth (1972)........played for Kent State
Kyre Allison (2016).............all time leading scorer for PHS (1,688 pts)
Marcus Bendolph (1980).......starting PG on 1980 state runnerup
Bo Clemens (1974).............24.3 PPG; played at Miami of Ohio
Others that at least deserve mention:
Dion McKinley (2012)..........starting center on 2012 state runnerup
Wayne Evans (2012)...........starting guard on 2012 state runnerup
Charles Taylor (1969).........20.5 PPG
Walt Mannon (1967)...........played for Northern Arizona
Darnell Lisath (1992)..........20 PPG, 38 points vs. Greenfield McClain(1994) most points ever by a Trojan in tournament play
Anthony Williams (2009)......18 PPG, 12 RPG
David Barnes (1988)...........starting center on 1988 state champions
Dominic McKinley (1988)......starting forward on 1988 state champions
Kendal Reynolds (2017).......4th leading all time scorer at PHS
Don Ellis (1951)................all Ohio guard
Leroy Carr (1954)..............23.6 PPG
Kyle Taylor (1984).............played for Xavier
Darrin Miller (1984)...........20.4 PPG
Curt Gentry (1955)............opted to play football (Chicago Bears)
Chris Gentry (1982)...........outstanding PG; slam dunk was first PHS basket in 1982 regionals
Jason Taylor (1989)...........21.1 PPG
I could pick any combination of the above for a starting 5 and they would be very competitive with all the others

I noticed you don't have Portsmouth’s all time leading scorer on your list.trojandave wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 12:51 pm Portsmouth Trojans, from 1951 to present:

BigBlueNation: Thanks for pointing that out.......I simply forgot about Kyre Allison. As good as he was, I can't put him on the first team.......I edited my original post to include him on the 2nd team.

I might put him on the bench but the 10 I have could run and gun and Newman would not fit in that system. He was more of a back to the basket guy.
Re: Whos Your High Schhol. DREAM Team
Matt Miller? He was nearly a 2 sport athlete at Ohio University until his QB coach nixed the idea of him playing hoops for Larry Hunter.yabbadabbadoo wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 6:46 pmreds4life wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 9:36 pm6-9 Paul Newman from the early 80s that played at Marquette doesnt make the list?yabbadabbadoo wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 4:25 pm Mine for Wheelersburg
