Athens (1-1) @ Warren (0-0) - (Tuesday Night - 12/1)

Post by Trevorstephens22 »

Athens won for the first time in a long long time last season at home (77-65).

Athens beat Zanesville in the opener on Friday 68-53 and then was blown out by D1 power Olentangy Library 88-44 on Saturday night.
Both Games were apart of the Zanesville Tipoff Classic

Warren is coming off a district runner-up season with a record of 16-10.

Hopefully Matters is back for this game

Did Warren ever get a new gym or did they leave the old one?

They are building a new gym with the new High school, keeping the old gym as well. Will be playing in old gym this season. When everything completed, they should have 5 gyms on campus, two at high school, two at middle school and one at elementary.

Great. One more opportunity for Athens to notch a victory in the Warrior Dome!

Trying to decide what I'll throw on Evan's picture in the hallway this year ... Should I go with the customary hot dog sauce or change it up?

Could be some quick work on Tuesday night. Zanesville is a very very bad basketball team.

I watched the live stream of Warren vs Zanesville ... Warren was clearly the better of the 2 teams ... Warren with Seth Dennis back at the QB/PG position LOOK like the Warren TEAMS we are used to seeing play - bigs inside that NOW can be BIGS INSIDE ... Dennis with the ball has the offense moving outside in/ penetrating instead of working AROUND the perimeter ... the BIGS are able to catch and do what bigs do - go up at the rim ... last season the bigs had to come to the ball, turn, put the ball on the floor to create for themselves ... Warren is once again able to score in transition, run the floor, push the ball ... Warren is playing the solid D once again with on ball pressure that allows the D to get turnovers to get out in transition ... they are fun to watch ... looking forward to listening to the non-partisan broadcast by 93bulldog, watching the live stream, and keeping the napkin stats via the broadcast ...

Be interesting how Warren is after losing their entire offense in Simonette. They still have the three post players

Not sure Simoniette was their entire offense...they have several returning seniors that can and have scored in the past...pretty sure they will be just fine!

It's at Warren, so Athens is already down by 10. That lead will probably be stretched to 14 by tipoff.
