Good luck with that. I don't feel like that many teams have 4 guys that average double figures so I'm trying to see the down side of this. Every team has to have guys that fill their role and the other 3 guys I mentioned are about as good as they come.hateraid wrote:So these 4 players average 50 points a game and FU only averages 58 a game as a team??? Get these guys in foul trouble because according to this no one else can score outside of these 4.Bud07 wrote:FU has 4 players that consistently get double figures. Conley at around 11 Price 11 Thompson 12 and Wiodide almost 16. Along with those 4 they have 3 other guards Wolshire, Miller, and Conran who are very good shooters makING near 40% from the 3. Woodside is averaging about 10 rebounds per game and Thompson 7. They can also really stop people. I believe they are only allowing around 42 points per game. FU plays a good Schedule and are very well coached. They have 2 tough games yet to play to win an outright MSL title. I believe they will be ready to make a deep tournament run.

And has 4 averaging double digits and the 5th averaging 1 point short double digits and a 6th man that has had double digits the last 6 games

Don't need luck...VC did it to them last year and I expect someone to do it again this year.Bud07 wrote:Good luck with that. Can't wait to see which guys Meigs has flop everytime woodside touches it. That's about teams only way to defend him, by flopping and hoping the refs fall for it.

I think that's pretty smart to take a charge and I think all teams do it.Falcon01 wrote:Can't wait to see which guys Meigs has flop everytime woodside touches it. That's about teams only way to defend him, by flopping and hoping the refs fall for it.
Re: D2 2/25 #2 F.U. vs. #7 Meigs (Logan)
I agree with charges, but the flopping that guys do guarding Colin is crazy. Saturday night Colin had to sit in the fest half after 2 just completely awful flops. Though I felt bad for the kid trying to guard him, he was a big kid but he was completely over matched. But flopping is awful.tvc_fan wrote:I think that's pretty smart to take a charge and I think all teams do it.Falcon01 wrote:Can't wait to see which guys Meigs has flop everytime woodside touches it. Meigs has some kids that get the charge call quite often, they are quick to get in position. Tournament time I don't think the refs will let the flops happen. Our boys however do box out pretty well and has gotten other teams big men in foul trouble.

That's legit foul trouble though. If guys move their feet and get ran over, then you can't be upset with that.tvc_fan wrote:Meigs has some kids that get the charge call quite often, they are quick to get in position. Sounds like Woodsides problem is positioning and guards getting him the ball in the wrong spot. Athens has had its fair share of men against boys. Typically that's why so many charges

Fu clinched at least a share of the MSL title last night. So even a loss on Friday won't change their confidence.
Re: D2 2/25 #2 F.U. vs. #7 Meigs (Logan)
So your telling me that if they beat a big rival like Bloom Carroll and win the MSL outright they won't have a huge confidence boost and momentum going into the tourney?Falcon01 wrote:Fu clinched at least a share of the MSL title last night. So even a loss on Friday won't change their confidence.
Re: D2 2/25 #2 F.U. vs. #7 Meigs (Logan)
Beating your rival, will certainly boost their confidence. But losing that game after already clinching won't crush them. And they'd have 8 days before the game. So yeah... they'll be fine.

But BC missed so many 3 pointers, I can't remember how many they took, but from what I seen only a few were made and a ton missed, there percentage had to be way down. A few of those made and BC wins that game.
Meigs needs to get Woodside in foul trouble early and take him out of the game.
I know FU has 2 more games left and a big one on Friday, If they somehow lose that last one against BC it could be a huge thing on their confidence going into the tourney on a losing note...Wishful thinking anyways...lol
Don't do it TVC_Fan!! its a trick to lure you up there and??????? Ray is one tough hombre

So it looks like the winner of this game gets a likely matchup with Chillicothe at the Convo. Chillicothe has a very deceiving record. They probably play the toughest schedule in all of SEO. Rooting for Meigs in this one but think FU will take it by single digits.
Ill predict
FU 59
Meigs 54

FU beats Bloom-Carroll by 20 tonight at their place for a league title. I don't think they will be lacking any confidence heading into the Tournament.

Should Meigs even make the trip up?Bud07 wrote:FU beats Bloom-Carroll by 20 tonight at their place for a league title. I don't think they will be lacking any confidence heading into the Tournament.

Is this the most overrated comment during tourney season? I don't mean that towards you.. but come tourney time, that exact comment will be made in every thread, by people not even playing in the game. Always makes me chuckle.tvc_fan wrote:Should Meigs even make the trip up?Bud07 wrote:FU beats Bloom-Carroll by 20 tonight at their place for a league title. Meigs played fu tough last year, and have a good team. In this sectional and district, you can't have an off night and survive. Meigs has the horses to knock fu off. Fu needs to continue to play well to advance. But I think they will.
