Yes, this is the first time a Logan team has won 20 in the regular season.
But this team got 22 regular season games versus only 20 for the '85-'86 Chiefs.

A pair of excellent teams. The 1985-86 Chiefs were led by Keith Myers (Bo's uncle) along with Kerry York (who tore his ACL midway through the season), DJ Conrad, and Jim Waid. Keith averaged 18.8 points per game, York 16 ppg (in 14 games), and Waid 14.5.

Bo Myers is averaging nearly 22 per game.

That team went 19-1 in the regular season right?

I would take this yrs team all day long over 85-86 team. This yrs team is way more athletic and can hit from "down town" almost at will. 85-86 didn't have a consistent "beyond the arch" shooter.

That's correct. Started 1-1 (lost to Brookhaven) and then won 21 straight before losing to Lancaster in the district final. They beat Brookhaven (without York) late in the regular season and went a perfect 8-0 in the SEOAL.

The three point shot wasn't introduced in HS until 1987-'88.

Could you give who they played in 85-86? I would say there was a lot of SEO teams on that schedule . Just asking because the Chieftains have played a really tough schedule and not to take anything away from that team.

I agree this team would probably beat that one 8 out of 10 times and maybe 10 out of 10. Landis would be a nightmare for that team to match up with. The overall quickness and shooting of this team is better too.

Just the way they get the ball to each other hard/quickly, has a collegiate look to it.

Seeing both teams play... IMO 85-86 would have worn holes in they're kicks just trying to keep up.

This group has blazing ball handling like I've never seen before. Pretty amazing for High School B-Ball. Have to say it, but I wish a few of them guys would come out for F-ball this fall. Back to topic. ;)

... No doubt that the "current" coaching under Coach Rider and Coach Bell IS important/outstanding in the present ... BUT you don't dismiss the coaching that was done with ANY group by one of the BEST defensive coaches in Ohio - Coach Kellough ... I have spoken with coaches who "coached under" Coach Kellough - everyone of them have said that he is the best defensive coach they have worked for, that coaching under Coach K made them better defensive coaches today ... it's just like teaching - the good coaches "take" from all of the coaches they have worked for and apply that to what they do - good teachers do the exact same thing ... apparently you didn't see THIS groups development defensively during Coach K's tenure at Logan or maybe you didn't really "see" it ... fundamentals - if you don't have them you get beat by those who do in ANY sport ... so I don't buy that these excellent players are coached by one of the best defensive coaches anywhere and the principles taught aren't a basis for last year's and this year's success ... Skill sets are cumulative - not "boom" you have it ... you can see the outstanding "skill sets" that these kids have at BOTH ends of the floor AND they are continuing to evolve every time they step on the floor ... THAT is what makes winners - these kids are winners ...

Put up a banner that says the Purple Hippo is in the house.

Logan use to have a Purple Santa running around at Christmas time.
