It shouldn’t, but it ALWAYS matters who starts

The 5 in there at the end in a close game is who the coach trusts the most

Hbk that is one of the best aspects of this team. They are extremely unselfish and root for each other. It really doesn’t matter to them who starts. Trey will play a lot and most likely be on the floor at the end of the game when it really matters. You have three seniors who have built up some sweat equity. It is going to be an awesome year

Honestly the only reason I’m even going to the scrimmage Tony got is to watch Robertson. He better not disappoint

Really good scrimmage. Waverly looked really good. Portsmouth is athletic but undisciplined. Will win some games will lose some. Frailini can really shoot it. Didn’t handle Waverlys pressure well at all. Unioto is solid. Not much size. The little kid will certainly help them be solid. Won’t win the svc but will be competitive every night in that league. Should win more than there share. Really excited to see what Waverly can do

... Waverly WILL give everyone fits with their pressure on the perimeter - more so than the did even last year ... can't wait until the 12/1 match-ups at Piketon ... the talent, the speed/quickness the Tigers won't be OUTSIDE the Elite 8 long I'm thinkin' ...

It’s hard to really make an assessment based off a scrimmage. So many different rotations, coaches trying different things and lineups. Not sure at any point the best five for any team was on the floor at the same time but it was still competitive. Got a little sloppy at the end from kids being tired. And I’m not sure if anyone else could tell but I can tell the difference in the football players. Mine is nowhere close to being at proper conditioning to be effective an entire game.

Portsmouth kid is solid

Remington is quick as a cat and doesn’t get tired. Fast feet and fast hands. All their guards are quick and physical. Definitely can see them wearing teams down mentally and physically

... going back to PRIOR to LAST season - I watched Waverly at a scrimmage with Fairland, Warren and 5 or so other schools ... one of the things I noticed was that Waverly was obviously quick, but they were "strong" at ALL positions ... didn't have the BIGS but could play with anyone due to their quickness/TEAM physicality & strength ... sounds like THESE qualities are still the norm for Coach Robertson's Tigers ... how did Robertson the Younger look at the varsity level ?

Robertson looked really well I was surprised. Hit a few 3’s, took care of the ball and wasn’t a liability with his size on the other end. Smallwood really surprised me. He has nice hops and good touch around the rim

... good to hear about Robertson - I like those undersized "players" who you KNOW are the gym rats, those kids that are tough as nails, know how to play a fundamental game that makes them THAT MUCH better than others of bigger size/strength... and the fact that he IS darn good - puts smile on my face - I haven't seen him play and I LIKE THE KID'S GAME ALREADY ! he's on par with Caleb Wallis of Jackson - again an undersized player who KNOWS how to play the game, and is THE kid you remember when you walk away from a game because of ALL of the facets of the game he gets and plays at a high level ...

Robertson looked really good. He is buying in defensively and and shoots it as good as anyone in southern Ohio. Smallwood gives Waverly good size and a physical presence. He is really starting to understand the offense and will certainly see the floor a lot

Do Stulley or Futhey get any varsity time or are they all JV?

Liking all the comments from the scrimmage tonight. Keeping it positive comments about each team..
I think a kid who can be a big surprise to some folks with his improved game over the summer is Smallwood. Some things to work on from last year but I saw some great potential in him last year on the JV squad. If hes grown, gotten stronger, improved his game and more aggressive - I see some great stuff from him this season and next. Waverly wont have a big big but they will have Dunn, Smallwood and Penrod - possibly a combination of two on the floor at the same time in certain situations.
I can’t wait to see these guys in action, just got back from Cuba and ready for some Basketball......

I was there with trojandave and o was more then pleased with the way my TROJANS played especially after losing four starters last year , we did struggle with the press and inbounding the ball ,we start a freshman and a sophomore and our 6 man off the bench is a freshman ,every single qtr we played was competitive and close ,to be honest I did not think we would compete with wavery that close , Waverly is relentless on defense and the coaches boy is going to be special , especially if he grows some . I look for Waverly to at least split with burg .

Coach Collins and his staff will definitely have this team playing some good basketball ,our quikness will cause a lot of teams some problems ,as seen tonight .

I honestly think Mckell McKinley was the best player :at least tonight" on the floor ,he was doing it all on both ends of the court tonight , if he can give us that every night we could win a lot of games.

And of course Fraulini did not disappoint either he is going to have a big year .

Not sure of the score but trojandave had us losing to wavery by 4 or 5 points total to Waverly ,not bad.
