Belpre Civitan Park Basketball Court Renaissance
Think I saw Coach Plummer down there last night sweeping off the snow to get some shots in...heard he's getting ready for an alumni tournamnet or something!?! But anyway, wonder if the Coach Plummer-led Court Renaissance will pay off this summer with busy courts?!? and consequently, wins next winter?!?

I hope that this pays off and kids come out and start playing 6 to 8 hours a day in the summer like they should. The court is beautiful. HS boys and girls from all around should flock to play on this thing. No reason why there should not be a wait to play on this court once the weather breaks.

in the day...when Belpre dominated, it was the place to be...lose and sit out, 3-4 games at a time...McConkey, Garrett, Garvey eras (early, mid 90's) when they didnt play xbox all summer! Warren boys would come to town, Parkersburg guys would come across the river...

Those were the days - that park was great even mid to late 80's.

The court is nice and I noticed that after school was out today, it was full and kids waiting on the sidelines for next.
To get better, you have to play the game and not just once in a while.

We need more of this in the Belpre community. Just keep the kids busy and out of trouble.

holding a league at the courts could draw interest, maybe a night or two a week... give high school players the opportunity to play against older, more experienced, and sometimes stronger players always helps develop their games...and yea-keep them out of trouble and off the couch!
