Meadowbrook Job
Re: Meadowbrook Job
Still no news. I heard through the grapevine that, in addition, Todd Van Reeth turned down the job this past weekend. I have no idea what is happening.

Re: Meadowbrook Job
Todd didnt apply he was approached and said no. After hearing today I think the AD is getting the bad rap for this and it's not really his doing on any of it. Hope this works out well.
Re: Meadowbrook Job
I am hearing now that Van Reeth may not be dead in the water.

Re: Meadowbrook Job
It was announced Thursday that Martin had the job. But he didn't show Friday for open gym and he was also a no-show for summer league on Monday. Hearing now that he has had a change of heart. What a mess!!

Re: Meadowbrook Job
I really don't understand how you could mess this up so badly. The talent they return alone should have made the only difficult thing about finding a coach picking which really good candidate they wanted. According to this they had around 50 applicants and ruled out a few really good ones. Crazy. Any legitimate coach would have to look at this job now and say thanks but no thanks
Re: Meadowbrook Job
Lou "Scooter" Tolzda is the new coach at Meadowbrook.

Congrats to Scooter, thought he was into retirement. Older than most dirt around the Meadowbrook campus.

Re: Meadowbrook Job
So you fire an experienced, proven coach who won over 50 games the past three years, completely screw up the process, then hire a guy who couldn't have been in the top ten of those who applied, is older than your previous coach, and not as accomplished. Unbelievable.
Disclaimer: I don't think much of scooter as a coach, I was told he didn't vote for my son or any of his teammates for an all star game they deserved, and got in to, a few years ago. His teams are very undisciplined and just run up and down the court and chuck the three. He'll win games this year but they won't get to where Arnold would have gotten them

"The process" gets screwed a lot in sports depending on the motivation of who is really in charge.

Re: Meadowbrook Job
I think Scooter will work for the personnel that Meadowbrook has; however, the pressure to succeed from the school board may have him at a "one-and-done" season if he doesn't get this team to the Regionals.

Ha ha, I thought about trying to find this thread, glad you brought it back up.
I guess it all worked out? Or do people feel differently somehow?
