Just curious what school was the last to have a 7 footer to play for them.

Asa Jewitt (sp?) from Ports. West (about 95-98) don't know if he was 7'0" but sure seemed like it when you were trying to get a shot over him.

I don't think Asa was 7' in HS. Maybe about 6'9". He played at Athens, but I don't know how well he did after that. Very smart kid though. I think he is now a stock broker.

I played against Birchfield. I don't remember him being 6'11". I thought he was more like 6'8" or 9". One heck of an athelete though. Where did he go to college and was he successful?

You must remember that most coaches add a couple of inches to players in the programs, so a lot of guys might have been listed 7', but were a little short. (Not that 6-10" is short!)

Doesn't Marietta have a kid that is pretty close, around 6'10"-6'11"? Im thinking his name is John, he might play JV. He went to the Nike basketball camp at Otterbein College last season.

I also remember a Manchester team 86-87 I believe. Goodman 6'8", Perkins 6'7", Quinn 6'5", Rose 6'2" and Davis 6'1". Jenkins and Young and Jones all came off the bench and and I think all three were 6'1". Not a bad size team. That was the same year Peebles was awesome and West Union was strong as hell too. Might have been as strong of 3 teams the SHL had all in the same season.

Skaggs from Southeastern was 7'0.....he played about 7 or 8 years ago it seems.

Wellston had the kid who already graduated in Europe that was 6'11.....also had the Swingle kid in the early 90's who was 6'10 or 6'11

ashland in late 70's had 2 or maybe 3 guys, listed as 6'10", i remember talk of them being nationaly ranked, but got blown out by Dunbar, and Ironton ended up beating them too, which at the time was big, they had beat Ironton something like 20 years in a row.
