Re: Shootouts at Rio Grande
Streaks went 4-0, impressive vs Chillicothe, also beat Minford, Gallia, and a team from WVA. Im told the kids played hard and Evan Legg and Craigen Moore put on an Offensive Clinic.

Re: Shootouts at Rio Grande
Peebles Varsity goes 2-1 with wins over Logan and Marietta and a nailbitter loss to Portsmouth. The Indian JV team went 2-2 with wins over Marietta and Spring Valley and losses to Portsmouth(very good game which came down to the wire) and Logan.
Varsity
VS. Logan:
Peebles came out and easily dispatched the cheiftains to grab their first win of the day. A sufficating press and fresh legs put the Indians on top 34-18 as the final buzzer sounded despite a Logan run at the end of the final quarter when some of Peebles's starters were subbed out.
VS. Portsmouth:
The Indians' solo loss on the day, to Portsmouth, was close for the majority of the game but the high-low ball movement to McKinley, who was gaurded by the much smaller Blake Justice, and some clutch 3 pointers from Wayne Evans(I think he made 4) sealed the deal for the trojans 47-41.
VS. Marietta:
4 three pointers from Tyler Mcfarland helped the Indians win a hard fought game with the Tigers 44-38. Fatigue was evident and the bulldozing of Marietta's 6-10/6-11 center did not aid the Indians' cause.

Re: Shootouts at Rio Grande
Portsmouth fared pretty well overall, going 2-2 without Andrew Bendolph, who had a prior committment........the Trojans beat Peebles and Eastern Brown, while losing to Scott(WV) in their first game, and losing to Tug Valley(WV) in their last game.
I was very impressed by the Trojans' defense overall, which even without Bendolph was very good on the perimeter........and I loved the one-two punch of Tre Underwood and Dion McKinley inside.......not only did they score, but they gave PHS a solid presence on the glass.
The Portsmouth JV went 2-1 in the games I saw until I had to leave.......didn't find out the result of the final game........looks like Coach Shane Rhea's team will have quite a few freshmen on the roster next year.

Dave, our JV team won their last game, with a buzzer beater by Cody Stapleton..so they won 3 out of 4...and could have very easily won the first one whitch was a good game also.

Yesterday Chillicothes jv went 4-0 beating all 4 teams by 30 or more. They had a very impressive win against Millersport, winning 56-4.
