Re: Pike County Holiday Classic 12/27-12/29
Eastern has to be the favorite coming in but we all know that means absolutely nothing at the Waverly Holiday Classic. I don't think Waverly was expected to win it last year but they did. I think Waverly, Piketon and Western are pretty evenly matched with Eastern a notch or two above (on paper and on the court thus far).
As with this Classic every year, expect the unexpected! Hope everyone enjoys some of the new renovations. More to come next year.

Re: Pike County Holiday Classic 12/27-12/29
Another Classic where the favorite falls. Piketon looked very good and flat out busted it out there. They will be a handful Monday and from what folks saw tonight should be favored to win it all Monday. The host Tigers will be coming in trying to keep the championship trophy in Waverly. Both Waverly and Piketon came into the Classic winless, one will leave on a two game winning streak. Can the Redstreaks match tonight's performance or will the Tigers figure out a way to slow them down? Only one day to rest and it's back at it.

Smurray hit it right on..the favorite seems to always go down in this tournament..I expected all 4 games to be battled out til the end and were halfway there
Piketon came to play last night and if they have that kind of effort on Monday, they should take the title but Waverly is capable of pulling it off.The consalation game will be a good one as well with the first of 3 meetings between Western and The Eagles.
Eastern better not come out flat on Monday..Indians will play hard for 32 mins..should be another good night of bball!

Well, expect the unexpected and throw out the records when it comes to the Pike County tourney.
Congrats to Piketon and Waverly on their first round victories and hopefully the Championship game and match up between Eastern and Western is just as exciting for the folks of Pike County to enjoy.

Congratulations to the Redstreaks of Piketon on winning the Championship 61-28.
Piketon lead 6-3 after one (yes 6-3) and 24-12 at the break. The two played even in the 3rd as the Streaks lead 36-24 after three. As if the night couldn't get any worse for the ice cold Tigers the Streaks outscored them 25-4 in the 4th.
Waverly failed to connect on a single three and only went to the stripe 15 times and made 10. Piketon was 14-19 from the line, not a lot of FT's in this one. Waverly couldn't throw it in the ocean tonight and they were open looks.
