Logan use to have a Purple Santa running around at Christmas time.
At least have the announcer let everyone know . No hippo allowed on the court . Santa would be "COOL"

I still have a "Purple Santa" Christmas ornament on my tree.

Larry Wells (aka The Purple Santa) was a neighbor and also an LHS Athletic Hall of Famer. A great football player (tackle) and track athlete. Went to Harvard to compete in Track and Field. Was a long time coach in various sports and also a school board member for some time (but before I knew him).

Larry was the long time spotter for Willis Dicken, the PA announcer for Logan football games on the Hilltop, and it was truly an honor when Larry asked me to replace him in that role which I filled up through the first couple of seasons at the new school.

I don't think TV thought they was going to get an a$$ kicking like they got. Over heard some of the fans as I walked out talking about how surprised they were with the final score.

I believe Tri-Valley seeded Logan at 26th at the seeding meeting, so there was probably a little extra motivation.

Very good win for the Chiefs tonight! Claiming a sectional title.

Just saw that Westerville South beat Worthington Kilbourne, 79-67, which means the Chiefs will play Westerville South on Wednesday, 3/7 at a location that will be announced later.

Great game tonight. The energy in Jim’s Gym was electric from the tip-off. Olentangy Orange brought a tough defense to the game in the first half. Logan was too much in the second half. The coaches made some good halftime adjustments last week and this week to put together great second halves.

I love seeing the boys fight through adversity and not get down on themselves when calls aren’t going their way or shots don’t fall. Most of all it is great to see Logan basketball thriving again.

Next up, Westerville South. One win at a time!

You can't compare the 86 team to this years team. 3 decades has changed the game in how it's played & officiated. There was no 3 point line back then. With that said let's compare some things with York healthy. Brookhaven twice quick, athletic & size. Dayton Patterson similar with nice guard play. Plus other very good teams on schedule. East Liverpool in district. York- 6'4" 225lbs could run & jump & wore people down with his strength. Keith 6' 3" strong & could have shot some threes. DJ Conrad 6' quick & strong , rebounder & defender & would have shot 3s. Eric Walli 6' 1" good shooter quick. Jim Waid 6' 6" long good around basket. All could run the floor. Cliff Campbell. 5' 9" quick & good defender. When Kerry went down Doug Stiverson 5' 10" was in rotation & Jose Medina 6' saw some action. This team made free throws.
Can't compare really without playing. Don't believe this years team would win 8 out of 10.
