I have my records back to 1925-26 (first year of SEOAL play)- still partially incomplete - but enough to confirm a new "best start"

The 1934-35 Chieftains - who won the school's first ever SEOAL title - started the season 10-0.

The team finished 14-3 and 8-0 against SEOAL competition. It was the start of a decade of dominance for Chieftain basketball, just a few years after the old LHS stage gym opened (1932-33).

The '34 Chieftains also went 10-0 in football, winning the school's first title in that sport as well.

The 1934-'35 Chiefs record:

AT Lancaster St. Mary's (now Fisher Catholic) - WIN, 23-12
VS Columbus West - WIN, 17-8
VS Stewart (now Fed Hock) - WIN, 24-11
AT Nelsonville - WIN, 42-31
VS Groveport-Madison - WIN, 34-25
AT New Boston - WIN, 35-20
VS Pomeroy - WIN, 19-16
VS Nelsonville - WIN, 19-11
VS Middleport - WIN, 26-8
VS New Boston - WIN, 32-20
VS Columbus South - Loss, 25-33
VS Jackson - WIN, 30-15
VS Columbus East - Loss, 25-30
AT Groveport-Madison - WIN, 34-31
VS Wellston - WIN, 20-14
VS New Lexington - WIN, 36-12

VS Greenfield-McClain - Loss, 17-37 (SE Sectional Tournament at Ohio U's Men's Gymnasium in Athens)
This is good reading . Enjoyed looking back in the Day. Thanks . Logan needs to take one game at a time and try to win as many as possible so that a couple of teams from the Central District has to make their way down 33 . Thanks again .

Logan has picked up a Jan 26th game against Whitehall . Both teams were supposed to play Huntington Prep Blue in separate Tourneys but Huntington opted out for lack of players . Game will be played at Jim's Gym . This fills out the 22 game schedule .

Really good game to get for Logan. Whitehall has been really talented the last few years and appears to still be pretty solid again this season.

Agree good pickup! Logan schedule been kind of weak so far except for maybe Unioto, but it will really start picking up next week when they travel to Ashville. Saw where they just knocked off Fairfield Union. We start see how good they are starting next week, can't wait!

I can't take it anymore. Please spell Chieftains correctly in the title. They do have a very nice team.

Chiefs beat Teays Valley 58-37 to move to 10-0, tied for the best start in program history. Will have a chance to have that accolade all to themselves as they play Marion-Franklin in the Route 40 Classic on Saturday.

Logan can turn up the D when they need to . Nice win . Makes pfloyd look like a genius. Heard they held Wolfe to 4 points . Makes the Shermans look better. Only 1 loss TO LOGAN . Keep the streak going both teams . Lots of good SEO teams some just beat up on each other.

Good points, yeah they held Wolfe down, and beat a very good team by 21. The Chiefs get a lot of credit for how explosive they are on offense, but their defense is what really sets the tone for them.

A really good signature win . TV a very good team and very well coached . You could tell early how the game was going to end up . The Purple GANG is starting to have a great following . Like Cbolt pointed out a tough part of schedule coming up . Take one game at a time and since there is no league title to contend for make every game a league game . One thing I have notice is the Chiefs play to win instead of playing not to lose. You have to do that on the road . Marion Franklin is struggling but is one of the Central Ohio teams and Capital out of Charleston W.Va I think was Runner up in the big school tourney last year and seems to be pretty good again this year will be next up for the Purple Gang this weekend if the weather holds .

Good luck Chiefs!
