Here's the issue with your comment about them scheduling teams other than NY, Athens and Heath. In case it hasn't been noticed, Logan doesn't play in a league. There are only so many teams that are willing to play Logan, considering a lot of the central district teams aren't willing to play at Logan. Mount Vernon is a pretty solid team, losing one game by 2 points to a solid D1 central district team doesn't disqualify Logan from, as you said "they're still where they need to be to even win a sectional title."
Agree with you 2009 . The loss was a loss but I do not think it will hurt that much . It actually might be a blessing . The Chieftains are special and if they play as a "TEAM" they could make a deep run in the Post season . Yea it appears some soft teams on the schedule but over all the AD did a nice job under the circumstances . A regional appearance is not out of the question IMO, But they will need a good seed. Tough games coming up so we will see how this plays out . Good luck to the Chieftains going forward.
I was under the impression that MV was 7-5 going into the game against Logan? Thought a Logan poster said that before the game.
Revisited Max Prep and they have them 10-4 over all and 5-2 in conference after the Logan game. I know that Max Prep is not always 100% correct but the Dates do match up . They have a rematch with Mansfield Senior coming up which they lost to earlier. They appear to have a pretty competitive league . Just checked the schools web site and that is correct . Played 14 games and they have another game that was post. due to weather.

... I believe the "W" over Logan put Mount Vernon at 8-6 overall winning their last 2 games in a row ...

sportsmom20 wrote: Mon Jan 22, 2018 5:26 pm I am sorry to hear this pfloyd, I have always found your post to be insightful and well written. I have come to the realization that people are insane, and hateful at times, sorry you have experienced this. I do agree, I highly doubt it was from someone close to the Logan program, as they are all good people and would
Never be hurtful like that.

As Raider has said you are more than welcome in Bulldog country!
... sportsmom20 I KNOW that YOU for sure KNOW how hateful folks & their comments get - IF anyone knows it would be you ... as far as the PM goes I HOPE it was not someone in the inner circle BUT they appeared to be "in the know" - it is what it is ... as I said I will always support those kids - they are awesome young men to go along with being an excellent TEAM but I have had past coaches at LHS complain about my posts, one even went so far as to tell one of the radio commentators for Logan that he turned off the broadcast when he heard me on the radio at halftime LOL he confronted the radio commentator with complaints as to why he would have ME on the air ... it's all good ... I'll wear the purple & white, continue attending games when I know they will be good games, heck I will still keep the Napkins Stats because that's what I do LOL, but as far as game rundowns - no more fuel for anyone's personal vendetta ...

... thanks to both you and Raider - I have ALWAYS been treated well by Bulldog Nation - I have folks that I call friends that I have made by following AHS hoops ... good people for sure in the Land of Green & Gold ...

I took their record off The Mount Vernon School website. I missed the Marion Harding loss .They had the dates and scores . 5 losses : Westerville North, Wooster ( rematch MV won ) Mansfield Senior( Rematch coming soon) Marion Harding and Newark . Wins are 9 including the one over Logan . I stand corrected . Sorry for the miss. Took my first post off of Max Prep and they had them at 10-4 with beating Marion Harding . School site would be more accurate with that game being a loss.

Apparently who ever it was has a beef with him and that is unfortunate to carry over on the Chieftain Thread. Chieftain players ( with a short bench) will continue to play hard and I look for positive comments only . We will all miss the Purple Hippo and the run downs . Maybe we will see a dancing Chieftain coming soon . Loganlocos I always enjoy your back in the DAY . Keep that coming . Hope Floyd reconsiders and do not let a PM stop him from doing what he and his Fans love.
Thanks for pointing that.

I'm afraid that makes it even worse - I can at least sympathize with parents who get overly emotional. Regular "fans" getting that worked up?

Yikes.

I think it must be a personal thing . Not everyone is going to see eye to eye . My take it's kinda petty . I've known these kids and parents for a long time . Great kids with great parents and a great Fan following . Are you going to take in the Jerome game tomorrow night ? Hope the Purple Gang can bounce back . Go Chiefs ! PS it might not have even been a SUPPORTER or a FAN .

Also a cool little piece of information on the LDN at the end of the rundown from the Whitehall game:

N-Y game moved to the “Katie”: At the request of the players, Logan’s Tuesday, Feb. 13 game against Nelsonville-York has been designated as a “throwback” game and will be played in the Logan-Hocking Middle School Katie Smith Gym. The reserve game starts at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity.

Logan last played a boys basketball game in the “Katie” on Jan. 29, 2008 — a 71-53 Southeastern Ohio Athletic League victory over Marietta — with Jim Myers Gymnasium opening Dec. 5, 2008, with a 79-70 loss to St. Charles. Two Division II sectional girls tournament games were played in the L-HMS gym last February due to a scheduling conflict.

As part of that Feb. 13 game, the Chieftains would like to wear warm-up shirts from the 1990s era. Anyone who may have such a warm-up shirt they could lend the LHS athletic department for the evening should contact LHS activities director Theresa Schultheiss at tschultheiss@lhsd.k12.oh.us
