SOC 1
Re: SOC 1
Western Indians is doing an awesome job 11-9 now in the beginning of the year I thought they would only win at least 3 games and they sure prove me wrong!! I’m glad they hire Coach Fitch he’s very wanted out in this area I hope they keep him around.

Re: SOC 1
I have to admit I am surprised Western is only 11-9. The night I saw them they gave a solid Paint Valley team all they could handle. They had shooters everywhere on the floor. Then the next game I think they beat a solid Zane Trace team. They definitely have talent on their team.

Re: SOC 1
I guess you have only watched a couple games . I seen western over the summer with the Dunn kid playing and really thought the Indians could compete for the league title against eastern . After Dunn transferred , I caught a couple early games and I didn’t know if the Indians would win 5 games. They have improved a lot the second half and Fitch has them playing hard and in my opinion overachieving . After looking at their schedule and seeing them progress some , I’m not sure who they lost to where anyone could think the Indians were the better team . Reviewing their lost games, I’m not sure which of these teams they should have beat ?ItsMyOpinion wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2018 3:12 pm I have to admit I am surprised Western is only 11-9. Re: SOC 1
Oh ... I’m not questioning anything about Western. I think they have talent and are a solid team. I am not familiar with their schedule. I would say those are all legitimate loses.
I was just responding to the statement it was an awesome job to be 11-9. If you win the games you should win and lose the games you should lose, then that is a solid job.

Re: SOC 1
The ones above I think a couple teams are listed in the wrong spots. I know Green and East are and Notre Dame.
Re: SOC 1
If Green, East and ND are in the wrong spots, would you please post the correct records as you know them. With all the postponed games and rescheduled games, it has been a little rough keeping up with all of them. ThanksColdHardTruth wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2018 7:03 pm The ones above I think a couple teams are listed in the wrong spots. I know Green and East are and Notre Dame.

Re: SOC 1
Here is a serious question, who deserves SOC I coach of the year this season Green and New Boston who both had huge turn around from last year and Western who has improved and played better than anyone gave them credit for after losing a couple kids

That is an excellent question . I think every year the coach of the team that wins the conference gets the award . And not to take anything away from Barrick , but I do agree with you that new Boston and green turn arounds should also be considered . I believe everyone also knew going into the year that eastern was the clearly the best team. I guess your saying is that automatically the best coaching job if you won what you should have won ? I can see both sides of that argument .
I have seen most all of the soc teams play and I don’t think anyone did a better job then coach Fitch of getting the most out of their team or any team that improved more than western did from the beginning of the year .
The same discussion could be debated about the player of the year also.

Re: SOC 1
Great Discussion!
I have not seen many of the SOC - I teams but I have seen Western. I’m really surprised the Western posters are not on here defending their kids. “Done more with less”.
I must have seen Western at their best. (vs Paint Valley) Because the night I saw them, the Western kids were definitely not “Less”. The night I saw them, they had very good players. Their pt guard was very good. He could play off the dribble AND shoot the deep 3. Their big kid could shoot the 3 and get it to the paint. The really fast off guard could shoot the 3 and did a great job of penetrating PV’s zone. Then a shooter come off the bench to light up PV’s zone. If the Western kids are not very talented than I have seen a number of teams that are a lot “Less” talented then them.
