Zane Trace @ VC 1/16
8-2 Zane Trace/ #8 In PFloyds rankings vs 7-4 VC/#11. This has all the makings of a great game. Any thoughts?? I heard ZT is long and athletic.

Tough to predict. I’m going to predict VC at home.
ZT is a strange matchup for most every team

Highly doubt that this game will end up being played today with the road conditions.
Zt is a very strange matchup for everyone.
How are the injuries for VC? I know at the Tipoff they had a few kids banged up that prevented them from reaching their full potential that game.

The Yates brothers are back. Naylan's ankle is as close to a 100% as one could expect. Nevan's finger is healing nicely, but probably will never be the same before the injury. Eli Griffith is now dealing with a badly sprained ankle and should be back very soon.
Just got word across our facebook page, Vinton County Vikings Basketball, https://www.facebook.com/VCVikingBasket ... =bookmarks - this game is postponed and reschedule for this Saturday, the 20th, JV will begin at 2PM with Varsity to follow.

On pure speculation to get the conversation started.
Off of watching Zt a few times and VC once I think that Zt will have the edge in the PG play but it will be very close (because i've only seen VC once.)
The rest of the game play will be interesting. VC having both of them back and at 100% will be a completely different team than I saw at the beginning of the season.
Both teams will have good length and size so it will be a nice matchup. Zt doesn't shoot the 3 ball much they like to pound it inside. VC from what I saw liked to shoot the 3 but got the ball inside as well. Don't remember the number but one of the kids down low #24 maybe had numerous offensive boards against bloom carroll.
Hopefully they get to play this one on saturday. It will be Zt's 3rd game in 4 days.

Im pretty sure Speakman is VC's PG hard to believe ZT would have the edge over one the front runners for TVC POY. I dont rhink this game will be close...Browns3823 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2018 12:28 pm Off of watching Zt a few times and VC once I think that Zt will have the edge in the PG play but it will be very close (because i've only seen VC once.)

Well...we have an excellent point guard, a leading candidate for POY in our conference. If ZT has one better, I can't wait to see him.
#24 is Eli Griffith. He sprained his ankle in an earlier match-up. He may be back by Saturday, I am not 100% sure. However, we are still big, we go 6'8" with Bryce Damron and 6'7" Cameron Hamon. Each, brings their own unique style to the team.

Re: Zane Trace @ VC 1/16
This is an opinion on just seeing them against Bloom Carroll the very first game of the season. Which was a very sloppy affair. I'm sure they and their PG are much improved since then. Since the game is at VC i would say that your 10+ projection is probably pretty accurate.
The Zt point guard I won't say is better because im sure they both have their own style of play which makes them different. He's only a sophomore with alot of room to grow and improve as a player but he really makes the team go when they need it and had the ability to go for 25 which hes done already this year once I believe. Nearly had a triple double in an OT win against Piketon.
Hate to hear 24 sprained his ankle he was a force on the offensive boards in the game I watched.
Also glad that 44 will be playing healthy in this game because he can shoot the lights out from deep.

Yes. Jake struggled against BC. It was the first game of the year, we were not ready and didn't handle their physicality very well, and struggled offensively. We could never get into a rhythm offensively and it showed. However, in his second game, Jake scored 42 points, second highest point total in VC history, against Nelsonville-York.

This is the first episode of Hardwood Heroes. At the 27 minute mark, there is a little segment on Jake Speakman.
