Hey 2009 , Did the Mount Vernon game get dropped ? Saw where Girls play on the 12th of Jan but Boys was not listed . Could they be trying to get another home game ( only 9 listed ) ?
Chieftain Fan, I have not been told anything about the Mt Vernon game being cancelled. It's still on the schedule on arbiterlive, but I noticed it's not on the school website anymore. I also saw on arbiterlive there was a schedule change. The Whitehall-Yearling game was moved from 12/6 to 1/8. I just saw that this morning on arbiterlive.

... Whitehall is now on Saturday the 8th? that means @ Gahanna originally scheduled for the 8th "ain't" being played or has it been moved ? ... the best laid plans _________________ ... The scheduling powers that be are killing " the Pfloyd Hoops Travel Schedule" ! LOL ... I'm pretty sure how schedule changes are effecting my hoops "eye's on schedule" DOESN'T come into the conversation LOL ... I hope the Chiefs having to put together a FULL "non-conference" schedule starts getting those "single" game contracts "tossed" by their opponents ... we'll watch the next 3 weeks to see if there are other "changes in the schedule" initiated by the Logan opponent ...

Pfloyd, the game at Whitehall was moved from December 6 to January 8. The game at Gahanna on December 8 is still being played.

Saw Logan play at Lancaster this week. Was impressed with this team. Yes Myers is very good and once again led the Chieftains in scoring (26), but there's much more to them than just him. This is an all-around talented team and you can't 'slack off' on anyone in order to double up on Myers. Lancaster went with a zone defense but Logan did a nice job with quick ball movement to get open looks for Myers and others. Most impressive thing I saw all night was when Coach Rider pulled Myers after he turned the ball over trying to get fancy with a pass. Coach didn't berate Myers. Simply sat him down and calmly talked to him for a short time then got him back in the game. It was refreshing to see a coach do this. Too many coaches (in all sports) are afraid to take out their star player for anything whether is physical mistakes or mental ones. Kudos to Coach Rider. Good luck to the Chiefs this season. They should win a lot of games. Well balanced team even with a big time scorer like Bo Myers.

Is Myers a Verbal Commit only to Division 2 Malone? With his skills and the numbers he puts up against top teams out of Columbus and has played on Elite AAU teams, why isn't he going D-1?

Very hard! Also, very few kids who go D1 actually finish D1. I’m not sure what the numbers are but I believe more kids transfer from D1 to D2 than kids who actually stay D1. It’s best for the student athlete to find a place they fit, where the staff and school have their best interest in mind and have a good program academically that fits what they want to do for the rest of their lives. If that’s D2 Malone for Myers than CONGRATULATIONS to him! Receiving D2 offers still is no easy feat and many D2 programs compete, and beat D1 programs every year

He loves Malone itself, including the campus. He really clicked with the coaching staff. He had the opportunity to play D1, but really hit it off with Malone. It's really cool to be able to say you played D1, but in my years of not only working with high school kids and helping them find colleges, but also as a college coach, and former college athlete, it's way more important to find a school where you fit in the best. And that's what Bo found with Malone.

Not much chance of anyone tossing these contracts. Playing against Logan is a lock these days. Hasnt been any fear of playing this school since there was a little tomcat pride being injected into the program.

That's great for Bo. If you can continue to play the game you love and your schooling paid for what more can you ask more. I was just curious.
