Marshall University is having a boy's basketball shootout on Friday June 29th starting at 10a. Haven't heard the schedule yet, but I'm sure it will involve quite a few local and regional teams as well as some from outside the area.

I saw the schedule for Friday, if you want to see some great high school basketball come on down. Games are being played at Henderson, Gullickson, and the Rec Center 9a with the last tip off at 5p.

There are probably at least a dozen legitimate D-1 prospects on the listed teams.

The Logan Team must be W Va. The Chieftains at Denison but sounds like a good shootout.

Saw some great basketball. At least 15-20 D1 players. Chuck Landon from the Herald-Dispatch had an article in the paper about some of the players.

Looking at most of the schools there, I have a hard time seeing more then 5-6 D-1 players from those schools. D-1 scholarships are really hard to get. These are not participation awards passed out weekly.

E High were you there? If not you have no idea what was there. I'll stand by my comment of 15-20.

Didn't need to be there. There are barley 30 D-1 legitimate scholarship basketball players in the whole states of Ohio and W. Va combined. It's VERY difficult to get that scholarship and then to be able to maintain it.

Just want to point out in 2017 there was 193 basketball players from Ohio on NCAA D-1 rosters. Which would put them 8th out of the 50 states.

My numbers are off , sorry, but my point was 15-20 D-1 players at that shootout is Way off. The major cities account for many of the D-1 players and those who stick for more then a year. Not these average shootouts.
