11/30. Fairfield Union vs Col. West

Post by Smeltzy »

FU to begin the season with a good test against a Columbus City league team. Usually these teams are quick and athletic but sometimes can be undisciplined in their playing style. Good luck to the Falcons!!!

... looking forward to read the posts from the game vs Columbus West ... West was at the Thomas Worthington scrimmage a couple of weekends ago - struggled offensively, as you pointed out undisciplined ... but scrimmages are just that - lots of different lineups etc. FU should be the better team in this one even with the big losses of quality bodies for the Falcons ... new line up with a good inside/outside combo in Evan Conley/Houston Harrah ... add to that the outstanding coaching cast of Coach Eversole/Coach Goodyear/Coach Helber ... pfloyd will catch you & FU in the near future Smeltzy !

FU cruises to the 54 - 38 win over West. Conley leading scorer with 19 and Harrah and Poston also in double figures. The falcons played under control and moved the ball really well. Harrah had a 6'7 kid on him so his low post game and rebounding was affected but he had a nice first game anyway. FU went 10 deep and got to play lots of combinations.
Big week of practice as the falcons get ready to travel to Carroll next Saturday.
