Jackson vs Hillsboro
Jackson vs Hillsboro
The Ironmen host the Indians on Tuesday for a triple header. The Varsity Ironmen looking to avenge a tough loss on the road with a bouncback performance at home. Hillsboro has a couple wins but did lose Keets who was a top scoring threat. The Watson kid went for 20+ the last game so he’ll have to be controlled.
Jackson must avoid foul trouble and control the boards. Some crisp offensive sets should help the FG%.

Did the Keets kid quit the team, or was it just a flare up on the bench? If he got mad at the coach and threw his jersey, then you can't have that either.Ironman92 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 09, 2018 8:03 pm The Ironmen host the Indians on Tuesday for a triple header. I’m assuming he won’t be playing.VetteMan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 09, 2018 8:55 pmDid the Keets kid quit the team, or was it just a flare up on the bench? I would be SHOCKED if he's even on the bench in street clothes, it was bad.Ironman92 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 09, 2018 9:11 pmI’m assuming he won’t be playing.VetteMan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 09, 2018 8:55 pmDid the Keets kid quit the team, or was it just a flare up on the bench? Re: Jackson vs Hillsboro
Just read the article from the Highland County Press regarding the game between Hillsboro and Lynchburg Clay which was the night after the WCH game. There is no mention of Keets in the article or box score so he definitely didn't play. Another interesting note is that standout Sophomore Jakwon Clark didn't play but maybe 2-3 minutes against WCH with no JV time, and he isn't mentioned in the article or box score for the LC game either. This is a kid that received a lot of varsity time as a freshman last year and even started some games. No idea what's going on with that, it has to be something off the court because the kid is definitely one of their top 5 players.

Jackson by a whole lot. Would’ve been a good game with Keets.
Watson is a good player though

I may be able to take this one in. I think Jackson will get back on track tonight after a tough loss at Greenfield McClain.

Re: Jackson vs Hillsboro
Just heard today at work that three Hillsboro players turned their gear in over the weekend and quit the team.
Re: Jackson vs Hillsboro
Don't like the way this is worded. In my many years of watching and following basketball, MOST times kids quit it's because of poor parenting / lack of individual discipline. Occasionally, yes, the coach is to blame. But coaches these days aren't making enough money to fight through the nonsense just for a small check. Chances are these are kids with not-so-good attitudes who joined together to think they're showing the staff who's boss.
Sad. We see this every year at a few different schools. And unfortunately, they have parents that fully are OK with them quitting.
