Listening to it on the radio I would have to agree. Waverly rushed shots 4 series down the court in a matter of less than a minute including when they had the ball after technicals on the coaches. Sounded like Waverly coach should have worked clock when they were up by 5. I just don't think the Tigers valued the ball. Eastern coach didn't panic and controlled the tempo the last 3 minutes in my opinion.

So if those shots went in then Robertson is a good coach?

This crazy game always comes down to one thing. Did the shots fall?

I thought Easterns seniors just played smarter down the stretch than Waverly which is a young team. Michael Miller took over in crunch time and Parker Clemmons scored 6 of his 10points mid 4th qtr,all big baskets. Eastern was all over offensive boards all night, played great defense the whole game.

rushed many possessions, didn't want to adjust and try to find the best shot especially late in the 4th

Were they rushed shots? Were they from kids who normally make them in the area they took them? And I'd venture to say Robertson has coached long enough if they were errant shots he wasn't instructing them to do it. A battle of tempos with those two squads. Tonight the slow down game won but if you play it ten times who knows? Congrats to the Eagles on a tough win.

Free throws free throws free throws!!! If I was coach Robertson I’d kept my team after the game and made each player hit 100 free throws before they left the gym.

Stupid Post about being out coached. That style is what got Waverly the 5 point lead. Why would you change things that are working. If they make those “rushed” shots then the lead goes to 10-12 points and game over!

In my opinion it was a great defensive game on both sides and just came down to what fell and what missed. Robertson had a good gameplan for that team. They are fast and aggressive with a good transition game. Eastern played pretty physical in the paint and moved them around a little. I think the 2 teams matched up well. Great game to watch.

"Being outcoached" is hilarious. Coaches don't make or miss shots, turn the ball over, etc.

Waverly was down 13-7 after one but turned it around to tie it at 22 at the break.
Waverly was able to do that and build a 35-30 lead at the end of three with the style of play that enabled them to get that lead (Waverly actually outscored the Eagles 28-17 in the 2nd & 3 quarters).
The Tigers extended the lead by 1 (36-30) with 7:13 to play by making 1 of 2 FT's (1 FT miss).
Leist promptly scored with 7:02 to play to cut it to 36-32.
Miller and Weaver came back in with 4 fouls each with 6:10 to play.
Clemmons (the X-Factor) cut it to 36-34 with 5:34 to play.
Miller 2 for 2 FT's tied it at 36 with 5:11 to play.
Smallwood bucket with 4:45 to give the Tigers the 38-36 lead.
Clemmons with the put back with 4:23 to tie it at 38.
Tied at 40 with 3:55 to play after CLEMMONS and Wolfe back to back buckets.
(CLEMMONS with those 6 HUGE points from the 5:34 mark to the 3:55 mark)

Tied at 40 with 3:55 to play, Tigers with 3 consecutive turnovers (two back to back travels at the same spot on the floor at the same juncture of the half court set). That my friend who is suggesting Waverly was outcoached is why Waverly tries to avoid the halfcourt set - get it??

After a 2 1/2 minute drought by both teams the play of the game happened at 1:22 when Miller scored and was fouled. Miller converted the FT and Eastern lead 43-40 with 1:22 to play. (MILLER MADE THE FT)
With .38 to play Waverly player fouled shooting a three. Made 1 of 3 cutting the Eastern lead to 2 at 43-41.
Eastern turned the ball over with .33 to play - Waverly still just down 2 with .33 to play and the ball.
with .22 to play Waverly player with a nice drive to the basket for an apparent bucket but Miller comes away with the block.
With .15 to play Miller hits 2 for 2 FT's to extend the lead to 45-41.
Waverly failed to score and with .08 to play Miller hits 2 for 2 FT's for the 47-41 final.

When Waverly made the 3rd quarter run to go up 5 after three, they were 2 of 5 FT"s - missed three.
In the 4th quarter when the game still in question, Waverly was again 2 for 5 FT's - missed three.
In the 4th quarter with the game to be decided, Miller went 7 for 7 from the line.

EASTERN MADE THE PLAYS DOWN THE STRETCH AND WAVERLY DIDNT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EASTERN SCORING
Miller 14 (9 in the 4th quarter)
Clemmons 10 (6 in the 4th)
Weaver 10
Cochenour 7
Leist 4
Deitrich 2
Eastern 8-11 from the line (7-9 in the 4th)

WAVERLY SCORING
Robertson 11
Marquez 9
Remington 9
Smallwood 7
Wolfe 3
Dunn 2
Waverly was 5-13 from the line (1-3 1st half and 4-10 2nd half)

Any word on how unsportsmanlike and bad for the game the Waverly coach getting another technical is? Asking for a friend...

Nice friend you have there, lol.
Both coaches received T's after a heated exchange in a 30 second timeout.. I can't say for certainty what started it but know the Eastern coach was near or at half court while Waverly's was in his team huddle when he got fired up. Not the first time Eastern coach was at or past half court. Someone said it was an Eastern assistant coach who yelled something that got it started. The officials were clueless it was going on for a few seconds. The first ref came running over from midcourt whistle blowing and stopped it without issuing any technical. The situation was diffused and then came in a second ref who proudly issued the T's....... CLASSIC.. I'm not saying they shouldn't have been T'd up but the first ref handled it and didn't see the need to.
See if your friend needs anything else......

Waverly and Robertson's style is not to work the clock, they don't have to "rush" shots but playing any version of "stall ball" the Tigers just don't execute well. Eastern showed some grit clawing back in the game after being down five heading into the fourth quarter.
Free throws hurt Waverly I know when I was listening they missed 4. Eastern is an experienced, well-coached squad that has only lost one game so far. I don't think Waverly was flat out out-coached.
