Waverly looking to improve to 11-5 as they bring January to a close, the Tigers wont play again until February 1 as they host the undefeated Wheelersburg Pirates.
Waverly needs to come out and take care of business like they did tonight. Not sure what MT has but they play in a very good league.

MT has decent size, but Waverly should be able to exploit the ballhandlers.

Waverly’s pressure will cause trouble for MT but MT might be the most competitive 1-15 team ever.

Granted Waverly 's last two opponents have not been strong, but it appears by the scores the Tiger's may have learned how to close out a game. For those who have first hand knowledge, is that a reasonable assumption or has Waverly just hit a lull in their schedule?

From the outside it seems Waverly is peaking or heading in that direction....we’ll know more next Friday. They are taking care of the teams they should be.

Nah, they've won games by a large margin here recently against teams that they should've beaten by large margins that's not closing out a game. Once a game is close and they have to hit those free throws at the end to seal the deal we'll know then because they have struggled from the line all season. They get Burg next Friday at home, I look for that to be a highly contested game and a good measuring stick to see just how far they've come as we get closer to tourney time.

Also, smurray maybe you can help me out as I don't think there's been a post unless I missed it on Phoenix. Has he had his surgery and do you know what the doctors have told him?? Thanks for the info, hoping the young man makes a full recovery.

He went back to see about the second surgery and had infection. He goes back Monday or Tuesday. Haven’t heard a recovery report, probably not until the second surgery.
He was at the game tonight.

Ah, hate to hear he's got to have another surgery. Hopefully all goes well, glad to hear he's able to get to the games now. Thanks for the update.

How close is Hoover to playing? I know it may be a long shot if he plays this year but how is he recovering?

Not sure about details, but seeing him dressing and participating in warm ups the past two nights is encouraging. Still has a way to go before being able to get game action but I would say there's a chance he may be able to play some around tournament time. But as I stated earlier, idk any true details. Just simply going off what I have seen lately.

He is not cleared, just participating in warm ups.
It’s good for him to be able to do that at this point. He goes back to doc second week of February, so he could be back for tourney.
