Humpty Hitchens is Chillicothe’s all time leading scorer and I think he’s also the leader in assists as well. Of course, I have neither number handy since the Ross County Basketball Page has switched servers.

Mark Bayless was obviously a fantastic player in a long line of basketball greats who have been Cavaliers.

Attaining this info may be tough. Not sure what kind of archives one will find regarding the 1000 point club at Chilly. Certainly Humpty, Garin Veris, maybe Bayless and a few others. Don't want to count out Gordon Mickey and Neil Johnston either. Mickey played his college career at Indiana, Johnston led the NBA in scoring 3 years in a row, and is in the Naismith basketball hall of fame, but probably only played 15-18 regular season high school basketball games back in the day (early 1940's). Finding HS numbers on these guys may not be easy since the passing of the great Dick Routt (unofficial Chillicothe sports historian). Just a guess, but probably Veris, Mickey and/or Johnston are the top 3 career rebounders.

Anthony "Humpty" Hitchens was a 2008 grad, Garin Veris '80 or '81, Mark Bayless '73 or '74, Neil Johnston 1946, Gordon Mickey '58 or '59.

Also, add Wayne Stevens to the list of Chilly career 1000 point scorers...1161 career points, 1954 Alum.

And... Veris did not eclipse 1000 points (961). He is however credited with being the school's leading career rebounder with 1028 caroms...1981 Alum.

Gordon Mickey scored 1241 points in his career as a Cav, he also had 978 career rebounds...was a 1958 Alum. The aforementioned Mark Bayless fell just shy of the 1000 point barrier with 971 for his career.

Not sure of stats but wonder if Jalen Ragland, Branden Maughmer, Malik London fell into any of these categories? Greg Cook and Greg Robinson possibly from the 60s.

Malik is Ross County’s Block leader, but I don’t think he would’ve gotten to 1,000. Jalen and Branden definitely did. I’ll do some research tonight to see if I can get final #s
