Waverly 78 West 42

After a 7 point lead at the break Waverly exploded in the 3rd to take a 20 point lead after three and then pushed it to 30+ early 4th before subbing with around 4 1/2 to play.

I don’t have individual stats but heard on the radio leaving that Trey Robertson lead the Tigers with 18. Sounded like the Tigers had 8 or 9 break into the scoring column.
Payton Shoemaker with 1 point but was named POG by the radio crew for his defensive play tonight. The young man was relentless and all over the floor.

Very strange night of basketball on the West side tonight. After the two incidents of West fans being ejected and well into the 4th quarter a Deputy goes to the Waverly student cheering section to make them move. Something about they were distracting the West players... HUH? Isn’t that what they do. Waverly H.S. Principal and Waverly AD were promptly in the scene to see what was up. Needless to say they didn’t move. VERY BIZARRE!!!!

Do you think the Ref's had control of the game throughout, or it sounds as if it mayby started to get a little chippy as the game went on. With the game no longer in doubt from sometime in the middle of the 3rd Qtr on, why all the ejections with the fans ?

Portsmouth West fans were just fed up from another beat down

Decided to take this one in. The officials really let them play as there were fouls not being called on both sides. In the 3rd quarter a West player was T'd during a timeout their coaches were complaining to the ref about the students saying stuff to the players. The ref actually came over to the girls and with a smirk he asked the girls not to say stuff to the players because the West coaches complained, lol. In the 3 and 4th quarter fans were ejected from West for yelling at the officials during different timeouts. An officer came over and asked the girls to move to the other side of the bleachers next to the Waverly cheerleaders. The officials never asked them to do this, an officer who seemed to be getting a hug from his daughter in the West stands then walked over and asked another cop to ask the girls to move. At which point a lady intervened and Mr. Hoover got involved and simply ask the girls to stay put but don't say anything to any of the players. It was pretty ridiculous and petty by West. As for the game it was fast paced from start to finish, Waverly with some nice passing and hit big 3s to really just pull away as West struggled from the field in the 2nd half.
