Post by 93Bulldog »

The Athens county game of the week returns Wednesday on 970WATH when the Trimble Tomcats face South Gallia in the DIV sectional championship at Meigs High School in Rock Springs. Blake Guffey scored a game high 18 points to lead the Tomcats to an outright TVC-Hocking championship by defeating Eastern 53-46. The Rebels meanwhile slipped past Miller in a sectional semi-final last week. Wednesday’s DIV post season match-up between Trimble and South Gallia can be heard live on 970WATH & 97.1FM or online at 970wath.com with pregame at 5:45 and the tipoff at 6:00.

I seen Trimble only has one senior.

Howie's had a week to prepare.

Trimble 57
South Gallia 48

South Gallia can definitely win, but Hardy needs to have a big time night. If he eclipses 30, SG wins... but I can't see Howie allowing that.

Two very good coaches dueling in round three. South Gallia looked good in the preseason, but barely getting by the Bartley Show last round suggests that they’ll need to be on their ‘A’ game in order to defeat the Tomcats.

Trimble only beat Miller by 5 in their last meeting. Hardy will have to have a big game. Howie having all this time to prepare is advantage Trimble. Coach of the year for the job he has done this year! I will predict Trimble by 10

Trimble has a freshman, load of Juniors and a senior who is not on the starting 5. He gives 100 percent when he does get into the game.

Should and could be a pretty close ballgame. I'll give a very slim edge to Trimble.

Not making excuses. Don’t care who wins. Just wanna see a fair called game not like previous meetings this season between these two teams.

If the officating was bad a both places if you were ahead it would not of mattered. I agree it is hard to beat a team 3 times, with that said I hope the Tomcats come away with the WIN!!! They have excelled this year in Cross Country TVC, Football TVC, Basketball TVC and Wrestling .....

Convo Cats...... BEAT THE REBELS!!!!

Congrats Trimble on your victory tonight over South Gallia. Sounded as if it was a very hard fought game throughout.

U didnt get what u wanted.. The game turned into a football game in the 2nd half. The younger bald official ,, I've seen him several times over the last 6-8 years and no matter what he HAS to make sure everyone knows he's there... And Howie,,, he has them wrapped around his finger. He askes, he gets. Reminds me alot of Norm Persin. South Gallia troubles still showed up tonight. Good season and well fought game tonight.

Congrats to Trimble... Made all their free throws but 1 down the stretch.

If Hardy would have shot in the first half like he did with 30 seconds left in the game South Gallia would be the winner for sure. The referee calling was make up calls all night long from bad calls. After the technical Trimble could not do anything without getting an offensive foul...

I am glad we came out the winners.... CONVO CATS
