Evan Legg Steps Down From Piketon
Re: Evan Legg Steps Down From Piketon
I’ve already verbally applied and will be filling out an application.

He worked his tail off 7 days a week. Swore he would make it back for the second half of the season. 6 months out from an acl and meniscus. And yes. The hair is something to beholdmlittle wrote: ↑Wed Feb 27, 2019 5:52 pmI wanted to catch you after the Unioto @ Piketon game but didn’t get the chance. Wanted to tell you I wasn’t sure your boy would make it back for basketball. It was good to see him out there and I’m glad he got to play. I’m sure it wasn’t an easy path back and glad he got rewarded with being healthy enough to finish the season. Also a little jealous of his hair.

I know we missed him in football like crazy. Glad he got to enjoy a little round ball. He gonna run track?metwct44 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 27, 2019 6:56 pmHe worked his tail off 7 days a week. For a guy who hates Piketon and couldn’t get away fast enough, you sure seemed consumed with talking about the program.
Something to think about!

Re: Evan Legg Steps Down From Piketon
I don’t hate Piketon. All the hatred has came from the other side not us. I’m Still very connected. Lived most of my life there, my wife and I both graduated from there, and both my kids spent half their lives there and I still own a home there which I still plan to visit in the summers! I hope my continued interest in a place I’ve spent most of my life doesn’t bother u. If so I apologize

Quick reminder for you and I quote
Piketon is a Hellhole
Hatred from Piketon side? Most folks I talk to are thrilled that you are gone.

I hate that this fine young coach is stepping down. I'm hearing from a reliable source that a former college coach may be applying.

Best way I can explain how It, is like the ex that you break up with but you still have feelings for. Sometimes you say mean things but the love is still there and we’ll never be done with each other
I’m guessing the final 3 applicants for this job will be:
Me
Miller
Barrick

Was shocked to see this on Preps.
I don't see Barrick or Persin applying or being a good fit.
Of those mentioned, I would guess:
1. Miller would be an obvious choice as an alumni and good basketball mind. But, there is probably some bad blood from his time at Western.
2. I think Fitch makes a lot of sense If Piketon could draw him from Western. He has been a proven winner at Eastern and Western. I also think that would make sense in terms of style of basketball that Piketon enjoys. I always enjoyed the scrappy pressing style of his Eastern teams.
3. Shoemaker is very familiar with the SVC
It will be an interesting hire for Redstreak nation.

Options 2&3. I would be upset with as a Piketon fan IMO.

As a fan of Piketon you should be very happy with Fitch, if he were to even apply. Fitch is one of the better coaches around and that shouldn't even be debatable. His kids get after it and are always fundamentally sound. If you want your kids to improve each game and grow into even better men, Fitch would be an outstanding choice.BackTap wrote: ↑Thu Feb 28, 2019 11:52 amOption 1 would be great!Truth Serum wrote: ↑Thu Feb 28, 2019 11:25 am Was shocked to see this on Preps.

I would understand your frustration with Shoemaker.

There is bad blood there with Miller but time and $$ have a funny way of healing things. If Miller wants the job it’s his.Truth Serum wrote: ↑Thu Feb 28, 2019 11:25 am Was shocked to see this on Preps.

Re: Evan Legg Steps Down From Piketon
I agree. After your first tier coaches like Persin, Barrick, Caldwell, Combs, Maddox, etc, Fitch is certainly one of the best of the next tier level of coaches and years of success with a variety of types of teams has proven that. I just chimed in when his name was mentioned as with others. I also have no clue if he is even gonna apply.bbjunky81 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 28, 2019 1:14 pmAs a fan of Piketon you should be very happy with Fitch, if he were to even apply. Re: Evan Legg Steps Down From Piketon
I listed Miller as the obvious choice if old wounds could be mended. However, I doubt Piketon would just hand him the job if some of the names mentioned here applied and I am a Miller supporter.mlittle wrote: ↑Thu Feb 28, 2019 1:26 pmThere is bad blood there with Miller but time and $$ have a funny way of healing things. I don’t see them passing up on him a 2nd time if he wants the jobTruth Serum wrote: ↑Thu Feb 28, 2019 1:55 pmI listed Miller as the obvious choice if old wounds could be mended.
