Last spring, the NFHS - and consequently the OHSAA - implored officials that uniforms with drawstrings out, aka the “rolled shorts rule” to be a point of emphasis after a New York student athlete lost her finger in a freak accident previously that fall.
This season, regular and postseason, between the Central and Southeast alike, I have not seen this hardly enforced at all. I have, however, seen a big focus on jerseys being tucked into shorts.
I post this topic to beg the question: is this no longer a point of emphasis?

Re: Rolled Shorts Rule???
I watched a lot of basketball this year 7 thru 12 and did not see it enforced once.
As long as the strings aren't hanging out I think it is a dumb rule. Schools dont have the luxury of getting uniforms that fit every player well.

This. We were informed before the season that they just had to have the drawstring in.

Just like every other point of emphasis rule wise, they talk about it for first 2 weeks of season, then its back to old business.
