How accurate is Max Preps Rankings?

Just curious how accurate Max Preps Rankings are.

They have Meigs at #1 in Ohio Div. II
and #4 In State of Ohio

But they don't even have Vinton or Alexander or anyones updated records...they still have Vinton at 1-0

I think you answered your own question. It can only rank based on the data it has. Any ranking database is sure to be questioned based on the variables used, but maxpreps doesn't have near all the data, so its more or less about worthless.

After I got reading it more, I can see that is isn't based on the same thing as the real rankings. Just depends on the results entered.

It's not real accurate. The only people allowed to enter stats and results are coaches and AD's. Probably 80% of each don't report anything.

Its like Every other site or group that posts rankings... An observation stat by peoples opinion. I posted CFB Rankings in the College Forums.... I took info and put rankings together based off of my personal opinion. Just to Spark conversation. Though with little info to back up data... Id take it with a Grain of Salt...

Your wrong, I have posted the scores for Meigs and also their team photo and they were approved...they do however get approval from someone.

Anyone can report scores, but not update schedules, roster, or stats. So, some teams will not have their entire schedule up the entire season, especially if they use a different service than Maxpreps.

Max Preps are rookies ... they obviously don't have the newest Ouija Board to do their rankings LOL ... I'd stick with Pfloyd's Elite 8 ...

The state rankings and pfloyds elite 8 rankings are the only rankings that matter.
