Unexpected result considering how well the Trojans played on Tuesday.

Rock Hill is no slouch. Owen Hankins, Adams and Doddridge form a formidable backcourt and the two bigs down low play very hard around the rim.

Burg is down ,portsmouth is definitely struggling but I like to give credit where its due rock hill is not the same rock hill team we've seen in the last couple years they played great team ball and have some kids that can play good basketball.

Congrats to them on the win

Yes
Exactly what I thought. Burg would have been better served to do so too.

Burg is average. They will win the ones they are supposed to. But they will upset a few and then get beat on some they probably should win. They will be average for the next two to three seasons.

Just finished the YouTube stream of this game. Varsity starts at about the 25 minute mark: Rock Hill played mostly Man defense, maybe just a couple of possessions of zone.

Congratulations to Rock Hill on the W......they deserved to win......this is a better RH team than in recent years.

From the Portsmouth side, all the "feelgood" from the Wheelersburg game wore off quickly with last night's loss. The Trojans are now 0-4 in OVC play, and with Gallia Academy and Ironton coming up next week, it doesn't look good for them to climb out of last place in the conference.

Portsmouth is now 3-6 overall, and to post an 11-11 mark have a lot of work to do just to get there. PHS hasn't had a winning season since 2018, and haven't had 4 straight losing seasons since 2006-2009. To have a winning record in the OVC, PHS must go 8-2 the rest of the way or 7-3 to break even at 7-7. The Trojans haven't had a winning record in OVC play since the 2018 season, when they went 8-6 to finish 4th.

Disappointing loss for Portsmouth coming off the win over Burg. Sounds like shooting still an issue for Portsmouth, but I never dreamed they’d be at the bottom of the OVC with the kids they have returning and the addition of Sanderlin.

Still could be a dangerous team come tourney time, but if they don’t play defense and can’t hit shots, they not getting out of Sectionals.*

2 of portsmouth returning starters have not played ,drew roe and Amari Johnson ,and are out for the season but still have to play with what you have .

Even with that there is some good talent but also a couple young kids

Portsmouth over the years keeps dropping down in different leagues and really might have a good year but for Portsmouth to be last in the OVC is kinda appalling What if they drop down to sOC1 would that help. I saw where Norte Dame just beat Rock Hill and last year Western put it to Portsmouth , so I would say they would be middle of pack in SOC1 also. good Luck rest of way. By the way weeks ago I predicted last place or next to last after watching them on a live stream.

No way on any planet would dropping to SOC1 be beneficial for Portsmouth or the little tiny D4 Schools in that division. Portsmouth would probably dominate 6-7 years out of ten.
Honestly they’re just going to have to get better or find a different staff. They’d get annihilated in the SOC2 as well this season
