I'm thinking Easterns new coach has them believing. They have some size,so things may get real at Beaver.

Eastern Pike though, like Lynchburg Clay….their performance, based on my expectations are always better than I thought they would be

Absolutely! The young coach at Eastern is doing a tremendous job. The young guy has his guys competing and believing and that can go a long way.

Absolutely! The young coach at Eastern is doing a tremendous job. The young guy has his guys competing and believing and that can go a long way.

100%, We scrimmaged them this fall and they have some pieces. Gotta love high school sports.

Congrats to the Eagles on the win tonight vs valley. As Hoopie said gotta love high school sports ! Been a rough couple years in beaver , so happy for the players , coach Leist, the fans and the community , good to have some excitement back at the Eagles Nest !!!

Tucker Leist had 6 points after 4 quarters and White ended with 33 points for Eastern. Jace Copley for Valley had 35 points with 21 points at the half and George Arnett had 24 points. I believe if Valley makes their layups and limits the turnovers this game could have been ours. What a great game by both squads and huge perfomances by White and Copley.

I heard Eastern’s 3 losses came when the flu was making its way through the locker room. They weren’t healthy and weren’t at 100%. But things certainly are changing in Beaver for the better. Congrats to the Eagles!

Congrats to Eastern on a huge win against Valley. Funny how these things work Eastern Pike loses 3 straight to West, Green and Oak Hill and turn around and beat Burg and SOC heavy weight Valley in back-to-back games.

Was exactly my point to the above poster. The regulation score was not unheard of, but until the overtime Tucker was a non factor in the scoring column. He played a great game at the pg position tho.

Great game by two tough teams in their respected divisions. Even when Eastern seemed out of it they hit another huge shot.

If you have someone going for 30 for eastern not named Leist then they should be a tough team to beat on any given night!

Were you at the game? Hard to tell on live stream, but it seemed like Ripley shot about 40 foul shots and Marietta hardly any (maybe 8 or 10?). Sometimes that happens because of style of play. That didn't seem to be the case here. Any insights?

Also read somewhere where Ripley, Scott and East Fairmont are three of the top teams in West Virginia. Can't confirm that either. Just curious.

I was not. Only listened to the game on the radio, so I can’t comment too much. Sounded like a frustrating night for the Tigers though. I believe the radio had Ripley at 33 free throws to Marietta’s 5.

Ripley is undefeated and supposedly really solid, but not sure how they match up against other AAA teams. Don’t know much about Scott other than they beat PHS. Looking forward to the Marietta-Scott game at the college.

Ripley and Scott are both really good. Marietta came within a free throw with 2 seconds to go to win against Ripley with the home team shooting 32 foul shots to Marietta's 4. No reason for the Tigers to be too discouraged -- 5-2 record so far after last season going 6-17.
