Elbie Nickel (Chillicothe)

Believe Elbie was a 1940 or '41 Chillicothe Alum, when his post High School education was put on hold due to World War II. He starred in football, basketball, and baseball at the University of Cincinnati and was drafted in 1947 by the Pittsburgh Steelers where he had an 11 year career. Elbie was a 3-time Pro Bowl selection ('52, '53 and '56), and in 2007 was selected to the Steelers 75th Anniversary All Time team to which there were only 33 members chosen.
