Adena 78
Unioto 72
Overtime

Unioto trailed almost the entire ballgame at Adena, but took a late lead. Clay Roll then hit a 3 with 3.9 seconds left to send the game to overtime. A funny thing though, Adena had the ball out of bounds with 9 seconds left and about 6 seconds went by before the clock was started. Still, it was a clutch shot and Adena out-free threw the Shermans in OT. Both teams scored one layup in overtime and the rest of the shots were FT's.

Unioto did have 2 chances to gain control of the ball before Roll's shot, but one turnover and one miscommunication cost them dearly.

Clay Roll had 30 for Adena and Buddy Barnes also scored in the 20's. Unioto was led by Curtis Baker, who also had 30.

Westfall routs Paint Valley to go to 7-6, 5-3 in the SVC. Dirt on this tomorrow from the Northwest. I'll be attending the Circleville game with Amanda tomorrow night and will have a report.

BTW...Hope everyone puts on an extra layer. We tend to get the weather up here first in the great, vast Northwest and it is COLD!

Westfall 74, Paint Valley 46

The Mustangs score the first 19 points in the game and cruise to 7-6 overall and 5-3 in the SVC with Boring scoring 20, Gibson putting in 19 and Cobb adding 10.

Westfall hosts South Gallia in Tuesday for a non-league game and Adena Wednesday in SVC action.

More on the Northwest tonight and tomorrow. Fairfield hosts the mighty Canal machine, Logan Elm travels to Teays Valley and Circleville hosts Amanda.

hawkeyepierce ... pfloyd shouldn't consider Logan, either, since (like us) they are assigned to the Central District for tournament play. ;-)

Circleville improves to 10-5 with the win. McMahon 20 points, Hartinger 16 points and 16 boards. Clanin 16 points. Tigers travel to Canal Friday.

Logan Elm was without Zach Holbrook tonight from what I heard about the game.

Mullens dropped 46 on Fairfield.

Piketon beats Ironton tonight at Ironton 76-66. Very Good game by Piketon tonight showing what this team can do. Ironton is a very scrappy team and didn't quit. Ironton was down as many as 19 I think, and was down 16 most of the game...they cut it to 6 in the 4th quarter before Piketon pulled away by hitting free-throws late. Next friday, huntington and columbus Mifflin come to town!!!

Logan Elm outscores Teays Valley 23-2 in the opening period Saturday en route to a 57-49 win. Tim Congrove and Adam Blake with 14 each, Chad Holbrook and Steve Largent with 12 each.

The Braves 11-3, 8-1 host Fairfield Union Friday and Miami Trace Saturday.

Canal got off to a 25-9 start at Fairfield and never looked back in an 80-52 win. B.J. scored 46 points in this one.

For Fairfield, Phillips, Mathes and Seesholtz each had six.

Fairfield 8-7, 3-6 travels to Logan Elm Friday.

There you have it from the very COLD Northwest Territory. This feels like northwest Canada rather than the northwest corner of southeastern Ohio. Everyone bundle up as the ROAD TO THE CONVO continues.

b618 ... I attended that Logan Elm game last night ... looked like the Braves were going to run the Vikings out of the gym - only allowed TV 1 fg through the first 14 minutes of the game ... turned into a good one - as you said Chad Holbrook did not play - illness I believe ... the MSL makes everyone come to play every night - not too many breaks in the schedule ...

...AND it was "darn cold!!!" in the Northwest Territories last night !!!! the 'hoe read 10 degrees throw in the wind and it had to be below the zero mark ... made that walk/semi jog back to the Tahoe a tad nippy LOL ...

Pfloyd, the MSL does make you come play every night but I'm sure Coach Stiverson wasn't happy with letting Teays Valley back into the game and those 21 turnovers. As you said, that is not Logan Elm basketball. But they'll work on it as you know.

Captain Jack the other game you are missing is that Southern beat South Gallia twice so there you go. You had the games right they just already played them twice. They do not play Symmes Valley this year.
