... bbbuckeyes - thanks for the correction ... I looked back at my napkin stats, my stats show NY with a 4-1 record not sure where the wrong record came from lol ... thanks again ... AND by the way at 4-1 the Buckeyes "deserve" to be on my lists ...

... soccerfix - you are absolutely right - even if we didn't post it most of us saw this match-up coming for Wednesday nights' championship game in the Pike County tourney ... should be a dandy ...lots of talent going to be on the floor for both of these teams ... Piketon with Evan Legg, Vulgamore, Brush, Helton, Lewis, Buckler, (Southworth not available to play) ... Waverly counters with Roback, Johnston, Kretzer, Martin, Remy, Malone ... with the Streaks missing Southworth in this one it will be interesting to see how PHS handles the Tigers "Big 2" - Kretzer/Martin ... this is a game I wish I were "in state" to see ... best of luck to both teams ... and to the cheap seat guys - it doesn't get any better than this match-up ...

PFloyd, thanks for all you do!

I stand corrected about Piketon. They are for real. I stand by thought that top to bottom the SVC is down this year...but Piketon can play with anyone and would not be suprized if they have another long tourney run.

If I was in D4, I would not want to play Eastern Pike either. They hung with an excellent Piketon squad and was told only down 6 late in the 3rd before Piketon went on a run. If Eastern can make Piketon earn it....they have ability to make some noise in D4.

Eaglesnest ... you are more than welcome, thanks for the props ... I totally agree that the SVC as a whole IS down this season ... Zane Trace (when at full strength) and Piketon are a clear cut above the rest of the league ... we will see the occasional "bump in the road" by either of these 2 as we go along (ie. Huntington beating Piketon earlier this month) ... but when the dust settles it will come down to ZT and PHS carrying the torch for the SVC and not really challenged for the top spot ...

Floyd,

Piketon had a good night offensively with great balanced scoring against a nice Eastern Eagles team. As mentioned, Eastern should be a top team in our district in D4; should be favorite to win their league. Piketon jumped out big early; Eastern made a nice run early in the second half after a few turnovers by the Streaks, but once again "spurt-a-bility" (I think that's a word) pushed open a double digit lead. With the streaks again, putting pressure all over the Eagles guards.

Napkin stats for Piketon:

Lewis 20pts, 10 rebs., 4 assts.
Brush 10 pts, 19 rebs, 5 blocks--best game since last year; played nearly entire game, and controlled glass/paint.
Vulgamore 15pts, 3 assts
Legg 13 pts, 4 assts
Moore (freshman)- 10 pts.
Helton-6pts (foul trouble)

As you can see, very balanced scoring and big nights by Brush and Lewis...Will need that effort for Wednesday night against the Waverly Tigers. Great win tonight, but playing for a championship title on Wednesday night! Could be a 3-peat! I believe Piketon has now won their last 9 games played at the Waverly Downtown Arena.

Coach Kelley, I officially have termed the word Burstability, which means the ability to accelerate quickly after stopping! lol I have it emailed to Mariam Webster, waiting on the official "word" if you know what I mean! lol You may however, use this word for now. j/k

Big win for the Streaks, quieted some doubters. The Eagles played hard, but from top to bottom Piketon 2-8 players were just better.

Now for the big game tomorrow, no predictions as I am getting ready to head to Indianapolis to take in the Zac Brown Band tonight for some fun with the little lady!

Lets Go Streaks!

Coach Kelley ... thanks for the napkin stats on last nights' game with Eastern Pike ... as I posted earlier most of us cheap seat guys had the upcoming game with Waverly and the Streaks already penciled in for the Wednesday night championship game ... should be a dandy coach ... wish I could be in the stands for this one but "life gets in the way" sometimes lol ... will be following on the web the after game posts ... best of luck to the Streaks and the Tigers - the "show" will be more than worth the price of admission ...

All right! Logan Elm still at the top of the list. That may change because they play 7 of their next 9 games on the road and have Fairfield Union and Bloom Carrol at home. However, if they don't lose in that stretch, ouch.

On a side note: I'd love to see a Piketon/Logan Elm matchup.
