Seeing as they were 6-55 over the last 3 years ...

(7-10) is pretty darn good ... they already beat their win total for the last three seasons combined ... lol

How could they only have 61 games in 3 years? 2 seasons only playing 19 games

They went (1-17) one year ... when your that bad, you don't make up non-league games that were snowed out ... lol ... that same year Athens went (18-1) because of all the bad weather ... Waterford was only (4-13) ... and Southern was (14-5) ... and Nelsonville-York was (8-11).

Eastern Pike 81
Symmes Valley 67

... the Pfloyd Tour made the trip to Eastern Beaver to see Eastern entertain Symmes Valley ... pfloyd was not disappointed , a very well played game, with the best team coming out on top ... the Eagles are a legitimate Elite 8 TEAM - solid fundamentally at both ends of the floor, 4 double digit scorers in the starting 5, Tavares Pickett is as good of player as you will find in Southern/Southeastern Ohio - a smooth midrange jumper; EHS has 5 players who can shoot the rock from downtown ... as good as EHS is offensively I was more impressed with the D - on the ball pressure? outstanding, help side defense ? outstanding, probably the only weakness I saw was the lack of size in the paint where a team with size inside can do damage vs EHS ... with that said Eastern Pike is MY KIND of TEAM - defensive pressure, fundamental basketball, offensive weapons everywhere on the court ...

... Pfloyd Napkin Stats - Symmes Valley ...

Scoring : Tyler Rowe 21, Claton Tony 21, Austin Baldwin 10, DJ Miller 10, Dylan Malone 3, Alec Herrell 2

3 Pointers : 5/11 ... Tony 4, Miller 1

FT's : 14/17

TOs : 16

... Symmes Valley is BIG ! Baldwin 6-4, Tony 6-4, Malone 6-2, Rowe BIG 6-1 ... Rowe had 14 pts from the blocks down in the 2nd half ... Tony did his damage from behind the arc in the second half (3 treys, 15 its) ... the Eastern first half D kept the BIGS out of the paint in the first half while building a 17 pts lead (44-27 at intermission) ... the Vikings outscored Eastern in the final 2 quarters 40-37 ... on a side note Coach Brace's Viking JV squad picked up the "W" tonight 42-28 ...

... Pfloyd's Napkin Stats - Eastern Pike ...

Scoring : Tavares Pickett 24, Chad Lands 22, Colton Lightle 14, Josh Thacker 12, Justin Fultz 5, Matt Dyke/Brandon Murphy 2 each

3 Pointers : 11/25 ... Lands 4, Lightle 3, Thacker 2 , Fultz 1, Pickett 1

FT's : 2/6

TOs : 14

Floyd ... Logan played hard tonight and actually looked pretty good at times ... Tristian Myers played very well scoring 18 - and the Chiefs moved the ball well offensively ... they were just overmatched physically ... the line-up coach Skinner went with in the 4th quarter when the game was still in question: SALTZMEN, WATSON, BURROW, RYAN LEUHRMAN, ADAM LEUHRMAN ... 3 sophs and 2 freshmen ... it was really fun seeing that group on the floor together - and yes - they are better with both twins healthy!

Quarters breakdown:

Athens led 21-13 after the 1st.
Athens led 31-23 at halftime.
Athens led 48-41 after three.
Athens wins 65-51.

... good to see that Ryan Leuhrman is back on the floor for the Bulldogs ... it will take a couple games for him to get "reacquainted" with the flow of the game - adds yet another weapon to Coach Skinners arsenal ... glad hear the Purple played well tonight, will be interesting to see if the Chiefs bring their "A" game when Athens comes calling next week ...

I actually thought Logan brought their 'A' game tonight ... was kind of impressed with their ball movement and patience at times ... they 'looked' like the kind of team Pfloyd likes ... extra passes, backdoor cuts to the basket, ball screens, etc... etc ... I mean it was a 48-41 game after three quarters, so its not like Athens blew them out of the water or anything.

... as I told beaverlover last night while discussing hoops at Eastern Pike vs Symmes Valley - South Point seemingly plays more games vs KY teams than they do vs Ohio teams!!! their scores must be reported via telegraph or Courier Pigeon ... either way their scores are top secret most games!!!

Isn't New Boston your alma mater, Floyd?
Maybe your not as imporant (or famous) as folks would like to believe ... LOL ...

"the guy can't even find a score for his own school - yet he's out and about signing autographs every night."

BTW ... this match-up is getting more and more intriguing ... Nelsonville-York (12-4) vs Federal Hocking (13-4) ... hopefully they both win Friday to keep the momentum going.

I KNOW YOU WANT A SCORE FOR SOUTH POINT, BUT IF YOU CAN'T FIND ONE - JUST MARK SP UP FOR A WIN ... ROSE HILL WAS (1-18) SO I DOUBT THEY BEAT THE POINTERS.
