Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #10

Post by pfloyd »

... as we move into the last couple of weeks of regular season action Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line the clear winner in Week 10 was Mother Nature AGAIN - the Friday/Saturday regular season menu of games were obliterated save for a few games along the river where the white stuff held off until Saturday morning BUT for the rest of Southern/Southeastern Ohio it was a time when ADs across the area were playing the game of how to get 6 or so games played in 12 days without interrupting regularly scheduled games ... doubleheaders (sorry Ernie Banks of Chicago Cubs fame would have loved it LOL) ? league games to be played after between sectional dates? will be interesting to see if teams will be able to get in their 20 game seasons or will they drop non league contests to get the league games played ... as far as the Elite 8 goes - the past week saw the top eight teams survive their 2nd week in a row without a blemish posted on their pocket schedules ... the movement this past week came from teams on the Treehugger list, teams working their way into position to jump into the Elite 8 in the final 2 weeks of the regular season ... let's take a look at what the committee of one - me - did with the games that WERE played, how did those games effect the Treehugger List at the end of Week 10 ...

... just a side note for the followers of the Elite 8 ... with ALL of the schedule changes, makeup games to be played this week and next - any assistance you can give with game results, who played who, scores, by now you know what the committee of one is looking for ... if you have results PLEASE post them on the Elite 8 thread - thank you ... more snow is scheduled to move in Monday night and Tuesday (heavy sigh) ... hopefully the game menus for this week CAN get played ... with the bad traveling conditions that come with the white stuff - be extra careful out on the roads in Southern/Southeastern Ohio this week ... best of luck to all teams in the Week that Is ...

... wipalawalt - as a fan of high school hoops YOU HAVE GOT LOVE IT!!! lol ... after I posted this weeks lists I looked at the team records - there's a whole lot of teams that have 6 games to play in the next couple of weeks! Oak Hill, Symmes Valley , Portsmouth all have 7 games to get in yet ! not an easy road when there are only 12 days to get them played ... will definitely be interesting down the stretch ... I'm happy to say that we'll be right there taking it all in and getting it on SEOPs ...

Pfloyd the dragons as you know played River Valley fri. The raiders are a scrappy team that shot the rock well and played hard for four 4 qts. They have to have the youngest head coach I've seen in a long time. So Floyd I'm asking that you show the raiders some love and list them somewhere. They deserve a place on your esteemed list. I think they are 3-10 with a win over Fed Hock early in the season. From my understanding they switched coaches after the season began. Pfloyd you should think about coming down along the river Fri and witness a great rivalry between the dragon and the hated panthers.

Jimmy the Greek ... when I was double checking records today I went to the C103 website which lists the SHL teams schedules/records ... when checking Eastern Brown their record showed as 9-5 with 2 forfeits (vs Western Brown/vs Georgetown) both games played during the Holiday Tourney ... I asked the same question to any of the SHL posters to see if we could get a clarification of some type jchitwood was looking into for us ... we'll be patient and see what the issue is or was ...

Looks like Tuesday and Wednesday games could take a beating with more snow/sleet. I see a lot of back to back boys game on Friday and Saturday this week on the horizon.

Logan entertaining Chillicothe at Jim's Gym.

Warren travels to Sutton Gymnasium to take on the offenseless Marietta Tigers.

Portsmouth plays host to river rival Ironton on Heller Court.

Jackson heads to the river to take on Gallia Academy.

... entree' dieux on the TVC side of the menu :

Alexander vs Wellston.

Nesonville York @ Belpre.

Miegs vs Vinton County.

Waterford @ Fort Frye.
