GOODNESS GRACIOUS ...

Has a Pfloyd top 3 team ever not made it to the Convo?

Is there a 'history of the elite' almanac somewhere so we can look it up?

... an Elite 8 almanac ??? LMAO !!! I don't think a top 3 team has ever NOT made it ... this season is one of the few times IF EVER that the top 3 teams are in the same sectional ... the Thunderdome Principle - 3 teams enter 2 teams play on ... having seen these 3 teams (Logan Elm, Athens, Warren) and knowing I will see them more before the sectional here in Logan it sickens me to think that one of these teams is NOT going any further than Jim's Gym - obviously there are other teams in the sectional that have something to say about that but realistically/ the eye test has these 3 teams as the top 3 in the Logan Sectional ...

... Coach Maddox's Warren Warriors will be playing Desales on 1/19 at the Rt 40 Classic, 1/21 home vs Athens, a trip to Portsmouth in the rematch vs the Trojans on 1/24 Friday night ... talk about a week Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line !!! ...

They need to amend the southeast district athletic board rule book ... pg. 67, rule 118, section 3.1 ... "Any and all teams that reside in Pfloyd's Elite 8 rankings at seasons end automatically qualify for the district tournament at the Convocation Center in Athens."

lol

Boy, Pfloyd's pockets would really deepen then ... he would have alumni, coaches, rabid fans all trying to bye him off for a spot in the Elite 8!!!

He would be pulling up to the Convo in a Rolls Royce, handed courtside seats - and given a barrel of twizzlers to munch on ..... and all the $5.00 popcorn he could eat.

Doing some research through the archives:

2008- South Point was #3 (tied) and lost in the Sectional Finals
2010- Oak Hill was #3 and lost in the Sectional finals

Reading some of the stuff on here makes me think Warren beats DeSales by 30 (since they only beat lowly WCH of the Southeasten Sectional by a point)

Wonder what No. 2 seed Logan Elm (15-5) was in 2012 when (uh, um) Athens knocked them out of the sectional? ............. ;-)

Pfloyd - South Webster beat Northwest Friday night -- not sure what the final was but it was a close game.

#11 Unioto hosts #12 Southeastern on Friday. Southeastern is down a game in the SVC and this is a much win for them. Unioto can't afford a misstep if they want to win the SVC.

#6 Zane Trace hosts #11 Unioto on Saturday. Back to back big games for Unioto could see some fatigue, but they must give everything they have to knock off the Pioneers. Should be a great game.

Trojans move on up to number five, but face the only unbeaten Peebles in a couple of days, should shake things up a bit

Just the talk of how loaded the Logan sectional is in comparison to the Southeastern sectional. Seems like the talk amongst those fans is that the district semi's will be a mere formality and that the two winners out of the Logan sectional will be playing for the district title.

Obviously, I believe there are a few teams out of the SE sectional that can compete with those out of the Logan sectional, although, the teams out of Logan will be the favorites to advance to the Finals for sure.

I'd agree- Athens, Warren and LE are real tough. Well coached, well balanced, play hard... problem is, I believe only two of those teams will make it out if their sectional is set-up the same as the SE sectional with only 9 teams. Which is absolutely insane, there should be a super sectional.

Doesn't really matter because they are way down the list, but Crooksville pasted Fairfield Union head to head. Saw that score online.

Washington Court House has a nice team that is capable of hanging with anyone, especially with the way they can shoot it. Circleville is capable of playing with most teams when they have a good night. Unioto has some size that could give teams problem. I haven't seen Trace or Minford this season, but Cedric Pettiford is a fantastic player for Trace, which has a nice athletic team.

93Dog, Logan Elm is still appealing that 2012 decision due to poor officiating. :122249 :122249 :122249

That game will go down as the breakout one for this era of Athens basketball.

Athens ... receiving favors ... at the 'purple palace' in Logan?

That sounds impossible.

... Logan Sectional Elites ...

1. Logan Elm
2. Athens
3. Warren
4. Sheridan
5. Vinton County

... Southeastern Sectional Elites

1. Minford
2. Washington CH
3. Miami Trace
4. Unioto
5. Circleville

... top to bottom IF I were a "ranking" kind of guy AND I AM a "ranking" kind of guy ... I do the comparison game when I watch teams ... the Southeastern Sectional has MORE quality teams TOP to BOTTOM (looking at the top 5 in each sectional) than the Logan Sectional imo ... any 2 of the top 5 teams in the Logan sectional that get out imo ONLY Logan Elm, Athens, Warren would be a handful for the 5 teams from the Southeastern Sectional while IF we flip the coin and ask the same question of the SE Sectional I feel that ANY one of the top 5 teams in the Southeastern Sectional would be a handful for the Logan Sectional entries to the Convo (which I feel will be, should be any combinations of 2 teams that escape from the set of LE,Athens,Warren) ... to be fair I have NOT seen Sheridan play yet out of the Logan bracket ( I believe Logan travels to Sheridan this week) ... in the Southeastern sectional I haven't seen Minford play ... so I haven't given every team the "eye test" to make the best of comparisons but I think I'm close ...
