Tri Squad Scrimmage last night at Marietta High School: Marietta, Morgan, & Belpre. Marietta & new coach were very aggressive from top to bottom. Good height, speed, shooting, will be a very strong team this year. Morgan, very physical, a few big girls & shooters, solid team. Belpre, scrappy bunch, hard working, very athletic, lacking height on the inside, with Mason not playing this year, not enough firepower, 3-point shooter Flowers was sidelined with an hamstring injury, but will get after it, a couple of seniors, a hand full of juniors, few soph., and several freshman will battle this season for court time. . .could suprise some teams. . .key this season will be "Put the Brown thang thru the Round thang more than ur opponent and victory is urs", good luck Marietta and coach Cousins, and Morgan. Go Eagles! ! !

just an update on Belpre Girls Varsity. . . .After the Marietta, Morgan scrimmage, they traveled to Miller, from what was said both teams were back on forth, pretty even, though belpre suffered from the injury bug, returning jr Leftwich was taken down on a hard foul, left scrimmage with concussion and cracked rib, will be out next 2-3 weeks, . . . they also had a tri squad scrimmage w/frontier and fed hock,. . . fed hock was without Iris Butcher, out for season with ACL surgery. . .and was back and forth with the Lady Eagles, Frontier lead by Boothe and Kimble were to tall and handled both the Eagles and Lancers with little problems,. . .though out gunned and undersized the Lady Eagles were a scappy bunch and at any time could go on a run a put some points on the board and upset an unsuspecting opponent. . .Flowers can shoot the 3 and can catch fire and give ya 15-20, Baker-Hasley-Crislip will attack the basket and pull up for the jumper, w/Fitch another 3 pt shooter w/strong moves to the basket, and when back from injury Leftwich "a Dennis Rodman" of the TVC will make a strong presence inside and will get some put backs, Morgan and Fleming off the bench will give Belpre some good minutes this could be an interesting season. . . .the latest scrimmage was wednesday night vs an always tough Parkersburg Catholic Team. . . I think that was one of the best defensive showings by the Lady Eagles in awhile, bodies flying everywhere, great pressure in ur face defense kept Catholic off balance all night, though they have a very talented pt guard and Ferguson is always a strong inside force, . .but the lady eagles were up tempo and attacking all night, really good to see the program pushing forward. . .TVC Preview Friday at Alexander . . .don't think Leftwich will be back in time for that, but should be ready for the home opener against Fort Frye on Dec 3. . .

Lets Go Lady Eagles. . .

seen her during the catholic scrimmage,. . .played quite a bit on the jv squad, no varsity quarters yet. . . runs the point and does a very good job, had some really nice drives to the basket and also shot the three ball, alot of hustle, will do fine and help out the jv squad. . .

on a side note. . some of the officials said mom was hot. . .lol

I also seen her play in the Catholic scrimmage and did quite well, although she seemed a little nervous in the first couple of quarters but scored around 75% of the team's points in the last two quarters. She did get in for a few minutes in the Varsity game but again, could not seem to get her game on (hands appeared to be shaking). Hopefully she will be able to get it together and be able to help out both squads in the future. From what I understand, she is only a sophomore and if she keeps up the good work I'm sure the public can expect to see her in the Varsity games at some point throughout the season.

The JV and Varsity both did exceptionally well in that scrimmage and the energy involved was outstanding so I say congrats and keep up the good work Lady Eagles and goodluck in your season!

On a side note........too funny...lol

everybody thinks kelsey lerch is awesome, and she's really not. she shows off to much just like she did at her old school, warren high. she wont be able to handle the pressure that is going to come to her later in the season.
