Lady Pointers defeat Gallia Academy in Season Opener

SOUTH POINT, OH-The 2009-2010 season officially got underway on Monday, November 30th as the South Point Lady Pointers hosted the Gallia Academy Lady Blue Angels at Pointer Gym. A good crowd was on hand.

Over the past few seasons, the South Point Lady Pointers have used their lightning fast speed to get out to fast starts and put games away almost as soon as they start. This was once again the case in this game as the Lady Pointers put together an impressive 15-0 run to start the game. By the end of the first quarter, South Point already had a big, 23-2 lead. The game was never close from there as the Lady Pointers held the lead to take a big, 55-28 win to start the season off 1-0.

Kayla Fletcher was the leading scorer for South Point with 14 points. Juniors Jalynn Bradburn and Ashley Goodall were also in double-digits scoring wise with 13 and 10 points respectively. Tinesha Taylor, Allison Mitchell, Angelica Stewart, and Erin Dillow also scored points for South Point. The opening JV Game saw Gallia Academy win 33-15. Kadesha Fox was the leading scorer for South Point in that game.

The South Point Lady Pointers will be in action next on Saturday, December 5th as they play in the Sandy Hook Tournament in Sandy Hook, Kentucky. For more information visit http://www.pointersports.com.
