Lady Cats couldn't get it done tonight against a strong Tiger team. A lot of turnovers made possible by many less than stellar passes. Hopefully the Lady Cats can tighten up and bring it to Federal Hocking on Thursday.

Play hard ladies!

Both Sina King and LeAnn Ross had 30 points in the game, each having 9 at half. 53 fouls called in the game and 72 foul shots attemped in total. Marietta was 0/1 at the line in the first half as Marietta committed 12 fouls in the first half and 15 in the 2nd, while Waterford committed just 5 in the first half and 21 in the 2nd. For the game Waterford was 24/38 and Marietta 21/34 on foul shots. Many turnovers in the game, with Waterford sorely missing injured Emily Brown who could have really helped the Waterford bleeding on the turnovers.

Maegan Grosel came into the game in the first quarter and her poise and ball handling really contributed to the Marietta cause. I can foresee the aggressive, fouling Marietta defense (they also had 14 fouls in the first half against Gallia) getting in trouble against teams that can handle the ball effectively.

I look for the fouling to get better. They still make silly reach fouls. They still forced almost 60 turnovers in two games and deep bench pays off.

I also thought Maegan played well.

Keep your heads up Lady Cats. This is why Coach Close has you playing tougher, bigger, playing up in divisions to get you ready for tourament. Emily was diffently missed last night. Stay focused, work hard and you will be alright.

go lady cats!!!

MHS... you know very well Marietta owned the game last night..
I thought this was a great game for the Lady Tigers they are playing very well together and can only get better!! Coach Cozzens is doing a very good job with these girls and they will be tough to handle as the season progresses.
Good Luck Lady Tigers!!!

I know of several very good D4 and D3 teams that would give D2 and D1 teams fits. Size of the school doesn't always matter. Ask Waterford, Berlin Hiland, Oak Hill etc. All of those teams have and will continue to do very well.

Both Waterford and Marietta have a long way to go but both will get there later this season. Looking for a packed house in Waterford for the rematch.
