Gotta at least cut that in half before the half, but a run is needed before the half.

Re: Waterford vs. Africentric Updates
They can still come back, but that's a big hole to be in against a team like Africentric, I'm hoping they pull it out.
BTW, I've read on JJHuddle that Africentric has some players in foul trouble!

Re: FINAL: Africentric 71, Waterford 44
The result of this game is inevitably going to bring out the debate of whether "open enrollment" and a "public school" intentionally limiting enrollment maintains a level playing field. If the OHSAA wants to keep turning a blind eye to the inequity that is being allowed, so be it. The true "small" community schools might as well just say, "give them the trophy, we do not want spend so much money to put a team into play with such disparity"

Re: FINAL: Africentric 71, Waterford 44
Congratulations Lady Cats on a wonderful season! Your community and your school couldn't be prouder! You are a super group of young ladies! Katelyn - good luck in softball and in your plans for next year. Ashleigh - from a St. John School mom, we're so proud! Good luck in track and next year at Marietta College. You will both be missed!
As for the private / public school debate. I doubt a change will be made anytime soon. And to assume that OHSAA doesn't see the disparity is ignorant. One only needs to look at the Pickerington Regional DIV bracketing to see the marked difference. 12 of the 16 schools on the Westerville brackets have Catholic, Christian, Academy, etc in their names and that only leaves out four than I'm just not sure about. But . . . looking at community size in those areas, if the private schools were pulled out of play, would there be any DIVs from the Westerville brackets, or from any large communities? I'm going to guess that may be part of the problem with segregating these schools. I don't agree with the recruiting (or whatever name you give it) but I do see this as a problem.
I've seen on the boards all season that your team is only as strong as your opponents. What would this segregation do for our girls? I would love to see Waterford (or any SE school) go all the way to a Championship as much as the next fan, but I'm not sure pulling the competition out of play is the prideful way to do it. There has to be some guidelines laid down to even the playing field without plowing it up. Our public school girls are beginning their seasons looking down the road to an inevitable loss and that's no way to encourage your ladies.
I don't know the answer to this never-ending debate, but I do know that the Lady Cats should hold their heads high. They're a talented group of girls and there are only stronger seasons in their futures. I Love This Game!

Don't say anything about Africentric on the Huddle, they might ban you! What a joke!

That is why, I rarely, if ever, even go over there to read anything. The Nazi's running that site are way over the top.
Re: FINAL: Africentric 71, Waterford 44
Yeah, it wasn't like I was out of line or anything. All they would have had to do was edit/delete my post, give a warning, and things would have been fine. But instead, I get a three-month ban!
Re: FINAL: Africentric 71, Waterford 44
You should see the response I got from the staff at JJ when I asked about lifting my suspension! TALK ABOUT A JOKE!
